Yeppers. I feel like Randy Quaid here in “Independence Day” . . . “I been sayin’ it and sayin’ it . .. Ain’t I been sayin’ it?” This is going to be a JOLTING surprise for the Dems and pollsters and Government-controlled media.

If they can’t vote for this Democrat and be able to live with their conscience, they won’t vote at all. I see a trend.

New Ras out today shows O 46, R 45. Anyone know if Ras still uses the 2008 polling model?

Keep the trend growing up, North Carolina!

I don’t think the dead people have voted yet.

I really wonder about the wisdom of releasing early numbers. I know it makes us feel better but it also gives the dimwits more time to gather votes or gear up for a legal battle.

Not sure. I think Rasmussen weighs by party affliation, but I read that pollsters identify Democrats/Republicans/Independents differently. So a 40D-30R-30I breakdown according to Rasmussen does not mean the same people to other pollsters.

So, not all pollsters take (say) your claim that you’re an independent on face value. The internals I’ve seen of Ras has shown Romney slightly trailing among indies, while other polls show independent advantage up by a ridiculous 15-points with Romney. That is one big danger in “unskewing” polls by party affliation.

Interesting. I keep hearing that "early voting favors the democrats". Presumably it gives them more time to put people on buses and give them cartons of cigarettes over time, rather than having to do it all on election day. This is good news.

Strictly speaking, "Early Voting" hasn't started in North Carolina yet. Absentee ballots are now available, but the far more important "One-Stop" balloting doesn't start for another few weeks.

But, I don't want to toss any cold water on this report. Despite Democrat fantasies about carrying North Carolina this year, it ain't gonna happen. Obama carried NC in '08 by a slim margin, and there are significant demographic trends in their favor over the coming decade, but this year belongs the Republicans, up and down the ballot.

This is probably a good indicator of voter enthusiasm.

I will be voting as soon as my ballot arrives in the mail! Can’t wait to vote!

I will say this about Winston-Salem though, there are Obama bumper stickers and signs all over the place. Every day on my lunch break I walk by a big irritating O sign of the local Democratic campaign office.

A few days ago a girl asked me if I was registered to vote. I replied I sure am and she followed up with “have you moved or anything since you last registered?” I replied that I was confident that I was registered properly and in the right spot and that Romney was going to win easily. As soon as I said Romney she turned away and started to talk to some other people.
