The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has cracked down on drivers smiling in their drivers license photos because their smiles could interfere with new facial recognition software.
New Jersey resident Velvet McNeil told the Philadelphia Inquirer Thursday that when she went to get her license at her local New Jersey motor vehicle center, she was told she could not smile for her photo. Shocked, McNeil said she walked out of the center.

Facial recognition software that is not robust enough to handle smiling? Sounds like a shovel-ready-purchase for our free-spending liberal government.

Facial recognition software? Wonder if it will recognize me if I eat extra salty food for a week before I get my license renewed next time. Face should be nice and puffy!

That’s because modern cameras don’t handle well the shadow of your smile!

Might be worth “choosing” to be female...a muslim female...for a day...just so I can wear a burqa while visiting the license bureau.

Indiana has had the rule in effect for some time. Facial recognition software can readily pick out those who would seek drivers licenses in several locations. Jose Gonzales in Indianapolis, pedro arriba in south bend etc....it works fine and several have already been apprehended. These ID’s are used to vote and used for various nefarious activities....

Contortion of one’s face for a join-the-collective driver’s license?
This is tyranny folks. Along with so many other examples, we’re looking at despotism and tyranny right in the face.
Close to the lines in “Bananas” where the leader puts out an edict that all citizens must wear their underwear inside-out. And they have to wear said underwear on the outside... so authorities can check.
