A Christian-owned chain of hobby shops is facing a bitter backlash after suing the Obama administration over new requirements to provide insured employees with contraceptive and abortion coverage.
Oklahoma-based Hobby Lobby filed the suit Sept. 12 in U.S. District Court in Oklahoma City, alleging that the ObamaCare mandate violates the religious beliefs of the company's owners. The suit followed similar suits by Catholic colleges and a Denver-based company whose owners also objected to the mandate on religious grounds. While a judge has not yet ruled on Hobby Lobby's suit, a Facebook page calling for a boycott of the company, which operates 500 stores in 41 states, has appeared online, and several other forums have featured posts urging customers to steer clear of Hobby Lobby.
Im boycotting Hobby Lobby! reads the heading of one posting on image posting site Flickr. Even if you're pro-life this kind of action stinks to high heaven! If things like this can be allowed then what's next?!, the user added.
Others have taken to social media to protest against Hobby Lobby, with a Boycott Hobby Lobby page on Facebook.
-snip-
Hobby Lobby owner David Green is a devout Baptist who owns one of the world's largest collections of Biblical artifacts. The Barret Fund for Religious Liberty, which represents Green in his suit, argued that compliance with the offending portion of the health care law that the nature of their suit is would force religiously-motivated business owners like plaintiffs to violate their faith under the threats of millions of dollars in fines.

Yep. Time for the anti-boycott.
Time for a Hooby Lobby support day, don’t you think?
Democrat shills and sychophants have no hobbies, unless you want to count trolling for EBT cards, WICs certificates, getting a Section 8 voucher, making the TANF list or actually rounding up enough dependents to qualify for an EITC ‘refund’....
I suspect there won’t be much business loss here.
Looks like everyone on my Christmas list will be getting a gift from Hobby Lobby. One stop shopping.
Time to go buy some more HO scale choo-choos, rolling stock, track and turnouts.
I’ve not shopped there before but I think I’’ll go there and look around this evening.
“bitter backlash” - bwhahahahahha. There’s never been a single facebook boycot that amounted to anything. When one is mounted against a conservative business that businesses sales generally increase.
Chik-fil-A DID NOT cave or give consessions
They merely stated their EXISTING policy, and the homos claimed victory.
Hobby Lobby can benefit too

Obama is the only true hobby LOL
Hmmm... there’s one of these places not far from me. Will have to stop there today. I have rarely been there because it’s not really a “hobby” store in my sense of what a hobby store should be. It’s more like an arts and crafts store. A hobby store should have model trains and cars and aircraft and rockets and tools and stamps and coins and etc etc etc...
They have a few (very few) things on that list, such as a few cheap model rockets, but it’s not the hobby superstore I thought it was going to be.
I began posting all over Facebook on this last weekend. I support Hobby Lobby...just as I support the Catholic Church or any other institution that feels it is not only rediculous but also violates their constitutional/unalienable rights to be forced to pay for contraceptives, birth control, or aboirtion procedures against their conscience.
I went to the Hobby Lobby in Boise after work on Tuesday and spent $50 precisely because of this and let them know why. We all need to do simiarly IMHO. I hope Huckabee or someone with national exposure organizes a “Buy Hobby Lobby Day,” and I will go again and spend another $50 in support.
Here’s the link I had at the time:

I’m curious as to what about the “action stinks to high heaven”...
Not capitulating to being forced to pay for abortion, abortifacients, and sterlization?
To even consider shopping at Hobby Lobby, a person must have worthwhile skills or enough self respect to aspire to develope worthwhile skills. A boycott by the pro-death crowd will cost Hobby Lobby exactly nothing.
I will support them, but I wish they had better customer service. The people are nice enough, but are never around when you need them....and the lines at the cash registers are very slow.
I've seen it.
Mind-blowing. Big enough it warrants its own museum. Took 3 hours just for a cursory glance through what he had displayed.
I LOVE Hobby Lobby - all the more reason to shop there even more, now!!

I was going to offer a similar comment. My wife shops there all the time. She can sew and practices a variety of craft activities. Many of the people that shop there have kids with them. It is an extremely “family” oriented crowd, and the stores are closed on Sunday’s.
I haven’t seen Ms. Fluke or her ilk in there yet, nor are we likely to!
Me either.
