Everyday our soldiers risk their lives to make this country safer. They fight to protect our civil liberties and safeguard our rights. One of those basic rights is the right to vote.

The 2009 Military and Overseas Voter Empowerment (MOVE) Act guaranteed the voting rights of deployed military, and Attorney General Holder's Justice Department continues to let them down and refuses to monitor compliance with this law!

Let's do everything we can to help our military get their votes counted this time! Our Warriors in Afghanistan are busy watching each others backs right now so we need to help them as much as we can. The military is solidly against Obama so this comes as no surprise.

I sure won't hold my breath! In the meantime I will make calls to help make sure our Military members receive their absentee ballots on time to cast their vote!

Calling our County Elections Office and asking them how many Military absentee ballots were requested and if they are ready to be mailed out by Saturday, is a way to help. The information is to be given upon request. It will also let the Elections Office personnel know we are supporters of our Military and expect all our troops to receive their requested ballot on time. We want to make sure they receive their ballots on time in order for them to return them on time to be counted.

I hope everyone who reads the information at the links above will check to see if their state needs attention in making sure Military members from their state are going to receive their requested ballots on time.

The Supervisor of Elections in many states are doing a fine job, but several states need serious attention!

Just making a call to one’s Supervisor of Elections and asking how many absentee ballots were requested from Military members and their dependents is a great help. Also asking if the ballots are ready to be sent out by Saturday 9/21 is of help. It lets them know we are watching and expect all our Military members to receive their ballots on time.

Today is the deadline for absentee ballots to go out to our military. I can report based on the calls we made to Illinois election offices lat week, ballots were going out yesterday (few exceptions). I will send a full report next week. Special thanks to Carol Davis and her team for all their help!
