U.S. Marines defending the American embassy in Egypt were not permitted by the State Department to carry live ammunition, limiting their ability to respond to attacks like those this week on the U.S. consulate in Cairo.
Ambassador to Egypt Anne Patterson “did not permit U.S. Marine guards to carry live ammunition,” according to multiple reports on U.S. Marine Corps blogs spotted by Nightwatch. “She neutralized any U.S. military capability that was dedicated to preserve her life and protect the US Embassy.”
If true, the reports indicate that Patterson shirked her obligation to protect U.S. interests, Nightwatch states.

I may now have the answer to my question on a couple posts yesterday, as follows:

No American soldier should ever be put in a place of danger without being properly armed. If Obama wants to staff the embassy with tour guides, let him recruit from the thousands of Democrat staffers getting fat and lazy in Washington. Stop using the Marines as props!

I had mentioned in another thread this ambassador looked like the spawn of Pelosi with those vacant eyes and evil toothed grin. Maybe I went easy on her if there are muslim ties to her and she is somehow a stealth Al Quaida operative working within the US government.
