Yes, I saw a thing on TV years ago (I think it was after 9/11/01, maybe not too long after) and they interviewed a rather irate Palestinian man whose brother had been a suicide bomber.
He maintained (plausibly) that his brother was, what shall I say, a little soft in the head, and had been victimized by those who sent him to his death.
He was very cranky and frustrated and I related to him.
But, what can I say, they don’t seem to be able to overcome and we did not help them.
Bush too, definitely Bush too.
Did we go into post-war Japan and say “oh, we know you are all yearning to be free, kumbaya, lah-dee-dah”?
No, we said, we won, you lost, this is how it’s gonna be.
That is what we needed to do after 9/11 and that is what we failed to do.

I certainly believe this demonstration was legit. Intelligent people only support Al Qaeda if there is something in it for them. Decent people will get bulldozed by fanatics, it doesn’t mean they like it. Remember that this group is small and such a demonstration today was beneficial to the government.
All Libyans are responsible for the murders of four diplomatically protected Americans. Punish all of Libya and Egypt, severely.

Anyone notice the assembly line nature of the posters? In a typical demonstration, poster art/lettering will differ in paint style and construction. This was orchestrated.

I’m talking about Japan based on something I read somewhere, who knows maybe it’s not true.
Although the “we won, you lost” part is TRUE.
I read that MacArthur basically took a legal pad and wrote Japan a new constitution, incorporating parts of our constitution and, well, whatever else the circumstances seemed to require.
That is basically their constitution today.
Now, you know, I don’t know. The Japanese seem to me to be very like the Germans, by which I mean, they’ll fall in line, they’ll pull together, for good or ill. I say that as a very proud person of German descent.
I’m not sure the Arabs/Muslims are of that ilk.
