Reports claim the guy behind the offending movie is Morris Sadek, an Egyptian Coptic Christian who has emigrated to the US. He is outraged at the treatment his fellow Copts have been receiving in the old country.

His Twitter account is full of links to videos and blog posts. E.g., on Sunday, he linked to this little movie (in English with Arabic subtitles). The commentary below the video links to this Facebook page and this other little blog entry.

I forget which source of one of the embassy attacks I read, but they made clear the majority of the muslim "protesters" were ultra conservative to throw that in there.
