The White House is denying that they refused to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the sidelines of a U.N. conference later this month.

"The President arrives in New York for the U.N. on Monday, September 24th and departs on Tuesday, September 25th," National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor said.

"The Prime Minister doesn't arrive in New York until later in the week. They're simply not in the city at the same time. But the President and PM are in frequent contact and the PM will meet with other senior officials, including Secretary Clinton, during his visit," Vietor said.

Why is Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu even bothering our POTUS when there is so much campaign cash that needs collecting, golf to be played and hoops to be shot.

POTUS will have more flexibility after the election.

Because Bibi flew 5880 miles into NYC. And Obama is 213 miles away in DC.

Exactly. There's no reason for Bambi to refuse.

But what I really want to know is why people here are defending his refusal to meet with Netanyahu. Particularly since it's at least the second time Bambi's snubbed him.

I don’t think there are two people in America who are naive enough to actually believe the White House spin on this disgraceful backstabbing of Israel by the regime of Barack Hussein Obama.

You are far too gracious to the average, idiot, ignorant, willfully stupid demoRAT voter. 45% of the country will pull the lever for Buruk Huzzien 0dumb0, irregardless of what he says or does. And most of that 45% are so willfully stupid & ignorant, they would not care what he said or how he acted against Israel. The 10% in the middle are close to being willfully stupid & ignorant, if thaty cannot see through the lies & deliberate destruction of America by 0dumb0 and the demoRATs.

Obama is scared to meet with Bibi, he just might get a punch in the nose.

I think he did snub the Israeli PM, and when word started getting out about it -the Obama admin started spinning.
Much like what they did when word got out about the DNC platform dropping “God” and “Jerusalem as capital of Israel.”

BOTH of your posts are spot on. And I’ll bet Romney does meet with him. These two have known each other a long time.

Partisan politics aside. The ME is a tinderbox. Iran is developing a nuclear capability. Israel may be forced to take action if the situation continues. The US has a dog in this fight. We have stated that we will not allow Iran to have nuclear weapons.

Given the time and circumstances, it is imperative that Obama meet with Bibi, if only for the optics. Iran continues its threats and is actually increased its militant rhetoric over the past few weeks. What is Obama thinking?

This is a chess match. Bibi flies 5800 miles to tell the world (UN) that he appreciates his biggest ally, Barack Obama with his further support at the DNC. He’ll remind everyone of Obama’s prior statements of having Israel’s back.

Then he’ll leave town and bomb the shit out of Iran’s nuclear
facilities. Obama is forced to support Israel...or will he?

Can’t blame Bammy. Michelle doesn’t like any of the Broadway shows playing this month. Otherwise, they would be disupting NYC traffic every weekend.

I would have preferred that Netanyahu had snubbed Zero.

There is just no way that Obozo will be in the same room with Netanyahu, ever again, once to the woodshed was enough for him. ROFL.

They can spin this anyway they want, it's all yada, yada, yada. Zero is afraid of Netanyahu. .

Obama is in so far over his head

Real world politic is catching up with him

He didn’t have to worry about reality when he campaigned in 2008 and that is all he knows how to do

I wouldn’t be surprised if he really wants to lose and retire

Sure, can’t possibly make it to NYC for an important meeting with a head of state.

Date night in NYC? No problem.
