Nice rant. Even though Mr. Akin will not be representing my state, I hope you don’t mind that I kicked in a pittance for him, and pray to see his civil service on a wider scale, according to the mercy of God in Christ Jesus.

Both the PPP poll, which had a sample skew and the Wenzel poll, which was agenda -driven, are suspect. I fear those polls are masking his continued weakness, so it would be good to see one more poll.

It was wrong and selfish of Akin to stay in, after blowing his lead with such a boneheaded statement, but he’s got the prerogative of a primary winner.
Akin says he’s in it to win it, so NSRC needs to suck it up and help him out. If Romney wins big in Missouri, he can probably drag Akin across the finish line.

It is wrong for the GOP establishment to try and force out one of the most conservative republicans in Congress. We have fought long and hard to get folks like Akin elected. YOU mean to tell me that MO should go along with the moderate/liberals in the GOP and stab a strong conservative? insanity! Akin apologized. He has a 100% rating by the American Conservative Union. IF Akin wins ..it won't be thanks to Romney.

Every little bit helps, FRiend. Thanks!

Mr. Akin is a good man and a good conservative who was unfairly maligned. It hurts to see someone from our great state treated so badly.

\rant off :-)

Akin is not elected yet, he was just nominated and he shot himself in the foot severely. “fighting long and hard” gets dealt a blow when candidates do that. Of course Akin apologized, as he should, but its up to voters to forgive and that doesnt change the fact that he changed an easy win into a likely loss. Your ire is therefore misdirected. May as well put your money where your mouth is, because mcCaskill will outspend Akin.

Akin is moving UP in the polls. Too bad the rinos wont back Akin. Akin will win ...MO voter’s are sick of Claire and it doesn’t matter how much money she spends.
Get OVER the comment and move on..you do know that Santorum won the gop primary in MO and he supports Akin remaining in...if the gop loses it is due to their stupid moves such as the map omitting the republican challenger.

Look pal, I have been a conserv before you were born. Since I was 15. So watch your lingo since you act more like a liberal smear artist than someone with principles. POS, please. I have voted conserv since 1958 and knew Bill Buckley personally with letters and policies before you were weaned. Good for you if you want Akin. I want him if if if he can win. Can he?? He sure won’t with your quick commentaries friend. Before you are so quick to judge fellow conservs, I suggest you mature. And btw, I hope the GOP wins that seat whether you like who finally gets the Pub nomination or not. And do not be surprised that Akin could pull through but it will not be because of your yelling and smearing. Oh, I am 73 and have worked in politics before you were born. Calm down pal, you will have a stroke.

I'm not your pal. And quit whining about smears and shouting. You sound like a teenaged girl.

If you're not from Missouri you can go pound sand as far as your commentary on this race is concerned.

You knew William Buckley? Well, smell you - aren't you special. Further, how do you know how old I am? How do I know anything you say to be fact?

Reality is I don't know, nor do I care. But based on your comments I know you're just another loud-mouth with a keyboard and an agenda - one that does not put the interests of the Missouri conservative voter in front of your own selfish desires.

And that, "pal", based on your own writing, IS a fact.

Hey you little snot, I do not care if you can spell ‘pal’ or not . LOL I just want you to vote for Mitt and the Republican ticket. You would not know the truth about my comments if they hit you in the fanny. But, I am glad you are going to vote Pub. At least in Mo. you have a choice. In Ca., we do not. And at my age, really is 73 and really have taught polysci in college for nearly 50 yrs. and a pastor for 20 of those years, I am glad at least you have a choice and can still elect Pubs. We cannot. Good luck in Mo.’

Well we can certainly agree on those points. And I'm not denying Mr. Akin has a tough row to hoe, mostly by his own making. But he is a strong conservative, and furthermore Missouri will help deliver a Repub into the White House this fall, you can take that to the bank.

BTW, I'm not 73 but I'm darn close, and I absolutely am a mean snot (but not little). And if your handle refers to the team and not the city - and they bump the Redbirds from the last wildcard slot, like they're about to do - then you and I will REALLY have something to knock heads over!

Liberty, that was a riot . Thanks. I do not think the Phils can catch the Cards. I think Pitts.goes down and the Dodgers still may collapse though right now, it is the Brewers who look hot. Today, Josh Johnson is pitching a NO NO against the Phils.

As of now, Akin is NOT omitted.

He only trails narrowly so he needs to be backed.

Love your fire friend:) check this out. scroll down and read about a battle that went on in congress over the passage of Medicare D. Check out Akin and Emerson and the MO role in this vote.
I would like to know if there are any discrepancies in it...http://www.firedupmissouri.com/content/flashback-night-clocks-scoreboard-stood-still
Also, I emailed Sen Cornyn of the National Republican Senatorial Committee and told him it was time to unite and support Akin..the man the voters of MO elected to run against Claire. That we could not afford a McCaskill win. Cornyn said they were not giving Akin one cent.
Also, get this...they are endorsing two pro choice candidates..one in Maine (Charlie Summers) who stated abortion should be legal and supports embryonic stem cell research and also Scott Brown who is pro choice. I won’t give the GOP one dime. They can go to hell.

Hey there - yep, it's accurate as I remember it at the time. As a serious fiscal hawk I remember feeling very proud that my representative (I'm from St Charles county) stood up to DeLay and Blunt's goons ramming this through and voted his conscience. One of many reasons why I so vociferously defend Akin today.

I haven't donated to either the local or national GOP since Boosh's reelection in 2004. I instead prefer to donate to individual campaigns that mirror my fiscal and foreign policy hawkishness! It's the one thing that helps me feel at least somewhat empowered within the current system - the national GOP sure doesn't represent anything I stand for any longer.

Since you have given me the green light. I am posting this on some facebook sites. I read it like it was an edge of your seat thriller. Akin was impressive with his courage to fight for his beliefs and for his constituents. I am so impressed. This is the type of candidate I have been fighting hard to win elections not to be booted by the good ole goons in the republican party.
Won't it be such a sweet victory if Akin wins?
