The Obama Administrations Justice Department announced, on August 22nd, that it was joining a lawsuit by a former Gallup employee and whistleblower against the Gallup Corporation for allegedly overcharging the government on polling work.
The announcement comes on the heels of a confrontation between Gallup staffers and Obama strategist David Axelrod in which he accused the company of using out of date sampling methods which, he said, generated polling data negative to the president.
The whistleblowers lawsuit has been kicking around since 2009, but the Justice Department joined the suit only after the run-in between Axelrod and Gallup in April of this year.
In a scene right out of a typical authoritarian regime, Fox News reports that employees at the venerable Gallup polling firm suggested they felt threatened by Obama campaign adviser David Axelrod when he questioned the methodology of a mid-April poll showing Mitt Romney leading the president according to internal emails published Thursday.
That poll that sent Axelrod ballistic showed Romney leading Obama 48-43 percent.
The Daily Caller published e mails that started when Axelrod sent a tweet to Gallup saying the tracking poll was saddled with some methodological problems and directing followers to a National Journal story in which a professor suggested outdated sampling.
According to the email chain titled Axelrod vs. Gallup, the White House in addition asked that a Gallup staffer come over and explain our methodology, which was apparently perceived as a subtle threat.
Fox News reported that a Gallup official said in an email he thought Axelrods pressure sounds a little like a Godfather situation.

It’s the Chicago Way.....
You honestly can’t make up stuff like this. We all know what would happen if this were Bush. It’s just unbelievable to me that so many Freepers refuse to vote Romney and get these thugs out of the WH! These “bullying” tactics will happen on a daily basis and in a more aggresive manner if the kenyan gets another 4 years.
So Dick Morris, who definitely knows and understands polling companies, thinks Gallup has been intimidated.
I hope and pray that Americans are wise enough to discard this Chicago thug and his cronys before they have so totally corrupted America that we are living in a Nazi state.
It’s amazing the press has no shame about it. What do they think it will be like, living totally under the thumb of an all powerful government?
A Spanish company, Scytl, will be counting the ballots in 13 states, including the pivotal states of Virginia and Pennsylvania. This is a socialist outfit in which George Soros is invested. Why has this happened in this election when we certainly have U.S. companies that have always managed to count our votes?
The polls have to remain close so that when Obama narrowly “wins” these states, it looks legitimate. If the polls showed Romney ahead by 10 points in Virginia and the computer in Spain gives Obama the win by two percentage points, even the dumb-as-geese GOP might catch on that something is amiss.
When this election is stolen and Obama is in office unrestrained for four more years at the minimum, what do we do then? What is the Plan B for keeping our freedom?
Plan B:
Amendment B......(2)
This just shows that polls are used, not to track public opinion, but to shape public opinion and votes.
“I want to be with the crowd. I want to vote for a winner. Everybody seems to like this guy, I’ll vote for him too. Everybody doesn’t like that guy, he doesn’t stand a chance anyway so I’m not voting for him. My guy’s not gonna win anyway so I won’t bother voting. This guy’s behind so I’m not giving him money.”
Just what ‘votes’ will they be counting? We count our own votes..........
How are state-run elections being outsourced. We have Republicans running Virginia...did they let this happen?
I bet other pollsters like PPP, ABC/WSJ, Reuters, etc. have taken note on this too.
Folks, given the current thugs in the WH, I think we should really these polls with a grain of salt. Rassmusen is the most accurate but ho is to say that he is not being threatened?
In this poll, Gallup is not estimating Democrat forgery of absentee ballots, hacking of voting machines, intimidation of poll workers, etc... so it is little surprise that Romney comes out ahead of the terrorist in this poll. If it weren’t for Democrat forgery, Republicans would win every election every time except for the liberal meccas, since most Democrats are too busy watching reality TV and haggling the welfare office to bother with voting.
“..Its amazing the press has no shame about it. What do they think it will be like, living totally under the thumb of an all powerful government?...”
They’ll think “Gee...I’m glad I was on the “correct” side...better to be the Guard than the guarded...”
Except...they’ll get to see what happens when the powers that be no longer need them...
This was discussed on Fox and Friends this morning. I doubt if any other news media will cover the subject.
I guess we can pretty much figure that future polls cannot be trusted. Now that polling groups know that they’ll be targets of Obama’s mafia if negative results are shown, every report will be influenced by that. I, for one, would be happy to have a poll-less election. It would be more honest.
Bump bump bump.
