This town hall meeting took place Sep 10, 2001 in Amherst Mass 12 hours before the first plane struck the towers in New York City, before the Pentagon was hit, and before Flight 93 was taken down in a suicide dive by the terrorists who were beign overrun by brave Americans.
This video is significant because of the statements made at the 40 minute to 50 minute mark and again at the 1 hour 10 minute mark which were in response to comments made at the 45 minute mark.
Keep in mind this was made 12 hours before the World Trade Center was attacked on 9/11.

We seldom juxtapose tar and feathers the way we used to. More’s the pity!

For those who don’t want to click on youtoob, the name of the individual, and maybe a transcript of the relevant statements might be helpful.
I guess he voted for the right candidate in 2008.
Could he be talking about the flag with Obama in the star field? Now that’s terrorism.
better click again or recheck your computer, the link works fine :)

>>PROF. JENNY TRASCHEN, UNIVERSITY OF MASSACHUSETTS: Actually, what the flag stands for is a symbol of terrorism and death and fear and destruction and repression.
DELANEY: The next day, in the wake of the hijackings, Web sites began to fill with anger toward Professor Traschen, and she received a deluge of what she describes as hateful and vile, even frightening phone and e-mail threats. Declining to comment on camera, she now says her beliefs haven’t changed, but her words were taken out of context. The hijacking, she said, horrified her.

Isabel Lyman writes:
>> “The flag,” she told the Select Board in a statement that was reported in this newspaper, “is a symbol of tyranny and fear and destruction and terrorism.” I gasped. In a room filled with veterans and patriots, that sentence had as much impact as if she had burned Old Glory on the Town Common. Amherst resident Phyllis Daley had three words for Traschen as the latter walked past her seat: “Shame on you!”
Since that meeting, and since the events of Sept. 11, 2001, other outraged citizens have repeated Traschen’s words - almost verbatim - to me.
I share their outrage. Such “I hate America” sentiments reflect a lack of gratitude for all the good the United States has done, all the blood we’ve shed on foreign soil, all the money we’ve given to poorer nations, all the immigrants’ dreams that have come true.
But it is easy for me to dismiss her remarks as a childish rant. See, that isn’t my American flag she’s talking about. Not even close. Let me tell you about my flag.
My flag is the one carefully draped over the casket of New York Fire Department Chief Peter Ganci.
My flag is the one that mourners at commentator Barbara Olson’s memorial service in Arlington, Va., placed on their suit lapels and somber dresses.
My flag is the one in downtown Northampton that a crowd outside Spoleto restaurant faced as they sang the national anthem during a candlelight vigil.
My flag is the one that our president, George W. Bush, raised when he visited Ground Zero.
—Then a rebutal by Traschen:
>>As a result, I have received a large quantity of hateful e-mail and phone calls. Most of these have been ugly and violent in tone. Many recent ones, from readers of the WSJ site, have also been obscene. Almost all have been anonymous. These anonymous, hostile, obscene messages accuse me of undermining American freedoms. They accuse me of supporting violence and terrorism.
This could not be further from the truth. Since I was a child, I have been involved in working for peace. I abhor violence, torture, and murder
People, please try to avoid posting links to videos unless the information can't be presented any other way.
Apparently, you didn’t read anything else
there were plenty of links to actual Freeper pages covering this event
And actual definitive information where you can skip most of the video and go right to the juicy parts and save your precious time, of which you must have lots or else you wouldn’t have wasted it on this thread, eh?
also, the video is the actual event, of the actual event, of which I was a personal witness to the actual event, of which the Freeper pages directly refer to
you cant cover the event without actually SHOWING it, can you?
So, SKIPPY, I think you can recant now...
So, if you are offended that I posted the most direct evidence that an event actually took place, then maybe you need to go complain somewhere else, Okay SKIPPY?
I searched on this gentleman and unfortunately he is going through a hard time at this time. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/James_Blake_Miller
This is almost prophetic ! I remember the last time I flew before Sept 11th. I went to Indiana on Labor Day 2001 - flew from Colorado Springs to Cincinnati and back home. The next time I flew was in December and things were so different.
That’s sad to learn about Mr. Miller. A lot of liberals despise our country and our soldiers. Mr. Miller probably was confronted by it all because he had his picture taken and became a target of the enemy from within.
Liberals are terribly demoralizing people. They hurt Americans all the time with their festering hatred, unthoughtfulness and intolerance, but to come under their attack in war as they idolize the enemy and hate you as an American soldier and the country and constitution you are fighting for, must be really devastating.
Then, to make things worse, to find the elite and both parties have decided to declare war on terror against normal Americans, and specifically against veterns and suspend much of the constitution you fought to protect...
This is a hellish time for America. God bless and protect and heal our soldiers and their families. Deliver us from evil.

Our flag represents death and destruction.
What the [American] flag is, is a symbol of terrorism and death and fear and destruction and oppression.
