He’s been busy with more important stuff. He’ll get to it when he gets to it, even though (a) he signed a bill just last month setting today as the deadline, and (b) the whole idea of a defense sequester came from Democrats as a poison pill for the GOP in last year’s debt-ceiling deal.

Obama’s trying to figure out how to parse the Virginia (battleground) job cuts that are about take take place.
But the Fun Part of this is that defense companies need to give 90 days notice of layoffs and they want to do this before the election in order to meet the Jan 1 deadline. These would be notices of potential layoffs if it isn’t stopped. O wants them to hold off.

There should have been repercussions should he fail to meet the deadline, like automatic cuts to NPR, PBS, Planned parenthood etc etc

IIRC, at the time, we were told that the cuts to the other side would essentially destroy Obamacare. What happened to those cuts?

Republicans were so stupid to agree to the super committee in the first place...and the rats painted the, into a corner. 0bama is immobilized, won’t act. Any resolution on this will take place without him. Parrot of his scorched Earth on his way out the door. I’m thinking as he realizes more and more that he’s out the door in a few short weeks, he’ll actually drag his feet even more, maybe in shock that for perhaps the first time ever, he’s not getting his way and hell become increasingly withdrawn. Heck, I’ve even pondered the prospect of Biden beinG the de facto President for the remainder of the term. I think we are witnessing a slow implosion.
