LOS ANGELES "Whatever it is, I'm against it!" Groucho Marx sang in a 1932 picture filmed on the Paramount lot here.
Today's Southern Californians seem to agree.
Once know for its sunny, freewheeling disposition, this region has long been as regulated as anywhere. Lately, however, cities, school districts and even libraries have been outlawing chunks of what used to pass for birthright at a startling clip.
Bonfires on the beach? Sorry, Gidget: Newport Beach is waiting for permission from the California Coastal Commission to remove its long-cherished fire pits, which it banned this summer as health hazards.
Newport's fleet of diesel-burning yachts are still OK, but napping in the city's libraries? Forbidden, as of July, along with any "use of perfume or fragrance" that interferes with librarians' "ability to perform duties."
The Los Angeles Unified School District, bowing to pressure from ecologically minded sixth-graders, two weeks ago banned plastic foam trays in cafeterias.
On Tuesday, California's Legislature passed a ban on psychotherapy aimed at making gay teenagers straight; the ban was proposed by a state senator from Redondo Beach and is believed to be the first of its kind. On Wednesday, the Legislature forbade the carrying of unloaded rifles in public.
California, of course, has lots of competition when it comes to aggressive bans. . . .

I can’t wait to see them try to make it illegal for Christian families to teach their children that sodomy is a sin or to do anything on religious grounds which influences their children against homosexuality.
It has to be a matter of time before everyone’s children are fair game for the sodomites.
Anyone who uses the word "impacting" is either gay or an idiot.
The "West Hollywood's mayor" quote is a good clue as to which one this loser is.
Is that even a sentence?
That mentality always puzzled me. Now it seems you only have to get 2 or 3 people together and get a law to ban whatever other people enjoy, but you view as some kind of encroachment, and it is done.
Started with smoking, drinking and eating stuff you like - it will end with being born in the first place; - or it may end with bullets flying.
California - where EVERYWHERE is an HOA!
They haven’t banned earthquakes and the Big’un is coming
“use of perfume or fragrance”
I’ll join that mob. I was at a restaurant where several tables up and left in the middle of their meals because a group of athlete types with “fragrance” were seated.
I almost want to open a restaurant just so I can throw out cretins. I’d probably be able to charge the remaining clientele a nice premium. “The IQ of groups must average over 100 to be seated”. “Anyone offending other patrons will be shown the back door”.
There is a little store I have been to on occasion up in Copperopolis. That store used to let people use the inside, airconditioned restroom. Some worthless witch made an ADA complaint on it, but the owners got her, they rented an ADA compliant port-O-John and planted it next to the store with a sign on it that read "You can thank (witches name) and her ADA complaint for having to use this toilet rather than the airconditioned one inside". That thing is a freakin' FURNACE in the summer too.
If you want to be on or off the Agenda 21 ping list, please notify me by Freepmail. It is a relatively low volume list in which we have been exploring the UN Agenda21 and related topics. We have collected our studies with threads, links, and discussions on the Agenda 21 thread which can be found here:

Post 128 of the Action Thread is a summary of the history of Agenda 21, what they are doing, what to do about it and a good bibliography for further reading.

As Rush says: There are consequences for your actions!!!
Bravo for the store owner naming names, etc.
It's envy, a byproduct of vanity. The nature of envy is not to have what someone else has but to destroy what they have. Leftist politics is driven by envy and outright banning things is a very pure form of it.
