As for the Democratic National Convention, it will be the first one I skip since 1960.
Let's be honest: It has no mystery, no fights, and it's in Charlotte, N.C., which is about as far off the beaten path - or easy airplane connections - as you can get.
And when you get there, there is no shopping. The only thing to buy is bootleg booze.

“or easy airplane connections “
The author is just a bigot and anti-South. Charlotte is a connection airport to Atlanta, Cincinnati, and other major cities.

His skit hit a nerve with the Libs/Lefties/MSM, too, because they are still talking/writing/reporting about it.

The only thing to buy is bootleg booze.Wow - aren't we feeling a little uppity! I mean, bless his little heart, he's not wanting to leave good ol' San Francisco for someplace as lowly as Charlotte, North Carolina.

Yep. Spin doctors here keep trying to diminish it as well. First bit of fresh air in this campaign at all, and one of the rare moments of joy in the past twenty two dismal years.

For those of you who don't know,
Willie Brown is a former Speaker of the California State Assembly and a former Mayor of San Francisco.

This man only knows Manhatten and LA, and stereotypical antidotes about what lies in between. Poor soul, watched one too many episodes of Mayberry RFD, and thinks Otis is going to try and serve him moonshine.
