CarMax co-founder and former CEO Austin Ligon, who will be a featured speaker at the Democratic National Convention, says he and his company's 17,000 employees aren't responsible for his billion dollar company, the government is:
As President Obama has said, I didn't do it alone. I succeeded because we had a committed team of CarMax associates working round the clock to build our business. We found ready capital from healthy and flexible capital markets that allowed us to grow. We benefited from an effective national transportation infrastructure that let us move products from one market to another, and we had cooperation and assistance from federal, state, and local governments in providing clear rules of the road that let us plan and grow our business.

I know I will certainly never do any business with this scumbag or his company.
Down, down, down....I’m buying PUTS on Tuesday!
Apologies for the multi posts.
Exactly! Where are the dividend payouts?
I won’t do business with CarMax!
Bought my last car there. And it will be the last car I buy there.
I use the dry cleaners near the rear entrance to the neighborhood. I like the guy...he and his wife work hard at this business. He’s been robbed and now keeps a gun under the counter (one of those 45 cal/410 gauge Taurus deals with a PINK handle).
One day, I asked who he was going to vote for...he said Obama.
Heck, I asked... he wasn’t out front waving a flag or haranguing people. I’ll keep going there as long as he doesn’t go all Code Pink on me. Plus, he gives me a discount if I play cash.
This idiot’s in the car business, and he has no idea what associating one’s firm with the regime did for GM?
Dang, and I had a great experience buying a car from them in January, too. This sucks.

Makes me wonder why there are so many poor people freeloading off of the government - they all had the same help as this knucklehead.
What he is saying is this.
“CarMax would have spontaneously developed on it’s own, without any of my or my staff’s help.”
Good luck with that...
Someone other than current construction crews invented the hammer, the saw, electrical infrastructure, a myriad of other tools, a sewer system and all sorts of other contributing factors.
Is it his premise that construction crews don’t build homes, or large business structures?
If this guy can’t grasp any of this, then remind him that anything the government accomplishes, has been and will continue to be done with money provided by the private sector.
You see dear King Obama, not even the government can take credit for building itself. You’re nothing without us, you adolescent lying pussy.
He formed the business in 1991...is he trying to give GHWB credit for his success?
I’ve looked at CarMax the last couple of times I was in the market. Seemed to me their vehicles were $750-$1500 overpriced. Maybe the government helped them too much?
Subsidies. Pork. Bailouts. Policies and regulations that will stifle up and coming competition.
As President Obama has said, I didn’t do it alone. I succeeded because we had a committed team of KarlMarx associates working round the clock to build our business.
We HEARD you!
Anybody want to guess which way it's heading?
Since the government built his business, Car Max should give taxpayers free cars. We already paid for them by building his business.
I think I see why he’s a “former CEO.”
Sorry, didn’t see your post before posting mine.
