Ryan / West 2012
If, “The case for Romney in two words: Paul Ryan” is accurate, then the executive decision made when picking Paul Ryan trumps it.
Despite my differences with Romey, he could have done a hell of a lot worse than Ryan. Kudos for the pick.
The other two words that make the case for Romney.
“Barack Obama”
I hope the republican establishment is prepared to go to the mat for Ryan - NO MATTER WHAT - because the left cannot allow him to survive as the party standard barer.
It'll be a chance to redeem themselves for the cowardice they've demonstrated time after time in the past.
The case for third party in two words: “Obama, Romney”
I had to do a double take last night. It was actually a Republican pol with a spine live on my TV.
For all the “wind-driven-snow” conservative Freepers our there who are still having trouble accepting R&R (Romney/Ryan), you may want to take notice of Hannan’s last sentence...
“Mitt Romney isn’t running against Ronald Reagan, for Heaven’s sake; he’s running against Barack Obama. How difficult a decision is that?”
” Mitt Romney isn’t running against Ronald Reagan, for Heaven’s sake; he’s running against Barack Obama. How difficult a decision is that? “
Hard for some to understand.
Funny. The case for McCain was in two words, and the second one rhymed with sailin’.
What does it take to get a decent candidate on the top of the ticket these days?
No doubt about it, I can’t wait to vote for Romney/ Ryan.
On a side note, hopefully there are enough smart people in this country to help save the FReepers from the staggering extent of their own stupidity.
I mean, really, the stench around here is very, very thick.
Cheers!
I’ve said before and will say again, Paul Ryan was a very good pick.
Unfortunately he isn’t at the top of the ticket. That space is occupied by willard. And willard will be the one to call the shots as to policies and priorities should they be elected. Paul Ryan on the other hand will get to break tie votes in the senate. When and if any occur.
Sorry. That’s just not enough. I’m not going to vote for an anti gun pro abort candidate so that a reliable conservative can break a tie in the senate once or twice in the next 4 years.
That sums it up for me. That said, Romney does deserve credit for being willing to follow whatever adviser decided it and to pick Ryan.
I don’t think they were on the same wavelength, but what Romney really wants is to be President and he will do whatever it takes to achieve this.
I don’t think he has any principles of his own, except whatever benefits Romney, but it looks like he’s smart and pragmatic enough to make some good choices in achieving that.
I still don’t like him, but I’ll vote for him now, if only because I really think his instinct for self-preservation will lead him to make good choices.
As soon as Romney becomes POTUS Ryan will be muzzled and kept with minor duties, so everyone best get their chances now to observe him in action, as history shows the VP is just Plan B, the Backup, the Next One in Succession.
Plainly nothing else matters. It's not that hard. In the process of saving our economy R-R will also necessarily promote greater liberty by freeing up markets, or else they won't succeed; and that, rational freepers, as you know, is a twofer.
