Clint Eastwood will be speaking at the Republican Convention in Tampa on Thursday according to Fox News. The networks website is reporting that a GOP source confirmed that Eastwood is indeed the mystery speaker. Thursday nights line-up has a To Be Announced speaker scheduled ahead of Senator Marco Rubio and GOP Presidential nominee Mitt Romney himself. Eastwoods name was floated earlier this week as the speaker along with former VP nominee Sarah Palin, Donald Trump and even a hologram of former President Ronald Reagan. No stranger to politics, Eastwood served as the Mayor of Carmel, California from 1986 to 1988. He supported John McCain in 2008 and endorsed Mitt Romney earlier this month at a Sun Valley fundraiser. Now more than ever do we need Mitt Romney, Im going to be voting for him, the Oscar winner said as the GOP nominee stood next to him on August 4. If Eastwood is really heading to Tampa to speak Thursday evening, hes going to have to get going soon. Deadline has learned that as of Wednesday afternoon, the actor/director was still at his home in Carmel. Eastwoods latest film, Trouble With The Curve comes out on September 21, 2012.

The real George Soros, pardon me for misrepresenting his first name of Gyorgy.
” Clint who seems to be looking for that Henry Fonda role On Golden Pond.”
I can dig that!
“Hey, PUNK! Get..off..my..POND!!!”;)
We always take the poodles to the ol' Hog's Breath Inn in Carmel for fries and samwiches.
This is one horse that Hollyweed couldn't keep penned up in the barn.
The Good The Bad and the Ugly .. that theme played constantly in our high school locker room before and after practices and games.. (they were playing The Way WE Were in the gals back then)..
Clint made acting look easy. even when he was getting hung , shot or married. a Director likes that in an actor.
ROFL!! Good one!
I owe you a huge apology.
I saw your post and a quick scan led me to think something that was not correct. I knee jerked and am embarrassed. Your negative one issue postings of anything Romney in the past led me to think the worst and not look for the best.
I believe his best movie was The Outlaw Josie Wales for the totality of the content.
I beg your forgiveness. I am sorry.
No Way! Did he?
I was in and out of the car all day - Drat!
Thanks, I never knew that. (obviously)
Been there, done that. In May, 2011, Palin bought a 5-bedroom house in rural Arizona north of Scottsdale for a little over a million dollars.
By sheer coincidence (!) her daughter Bristol had bought a small home in Maricopa, Arizona in late December, 2010 for $172,000.
Why "Arizona" out of all the 52 states???
When I read of these purchases, I instantly thought at that time that she would run as senator (maybe governor) in AZ sometime in the future....and I still think so....especially in light of her sudden, highly-public, almost gushy words of praise for John McCain the other day.

Just what has this man who makes his living pretending to be other people actually accomplished?

Eastwood on endorsing Mitt Romney on Friday Aug 3, 2012 during a Sun Valley fundraiser (Source: AP):
I think the country needs a boost, Eastwood told The Associated Press. Now more than ever do we need Gov. Romney. Im going to be voting for him.
Standing at Romneys side, Eastwood said he was filming Mystic River in Massachusetts almost a decade ago when he first saw political advertisements featuring Romney, who was running for governor at the time. I said, God, this guy, hes too handsome to be governor, but he does look like he could be president, Eastwood joked. As the years have gone by I began to think even more so about that.
In February, Eastwood told Fox News that he wasnt supporting any politician at that time. Some saw the halftime in America ad he made for the Super Bowl as a nod toward President Barack Obama. Eastwood responded then by saying he was not politically affiliated with the president.
Heres the statement he gave Fox on the Super Bowl ad: I just want to say that the spin stops with you guys, and there is no spin in that ad. On this I am certain, Eastwood told Fox News, in a statement read on-air by Bill OReilly. I am certainly not politically affiliated with Mr. Obama. It was meant to be a message about job growth and the spirit of America. I think all politicians will agree with it. I thought the spirit was OK.
He added, If Obama or any other politician wants to run with the spirit of that ad, go for it.
Clint is a sly old bird. He is using the GOPe snoozefest to get some face time and plug his new movie which just happens to be coming out.
Oh, and I don’t think the convention is a snoozefest....
Yes it would...finally a positive post.
Quite a few Alaskans own property in Hawaii, Arizona and Florida. My employer has a ranch in AZ, his son a vacation retreat in Hawaii and I favor renting a vacation home in Orlando for a month in january, because six months of real Alaska winter tends to be depressing to most, and I have lived in Alaska for over 20 years.
Alaska is awesome from late may to mid september, otherwise its just an icebox.
He also owned a restaurant in Carmel~food was good btw :)

Donald Sutherland also was a PI in “KLUTE” with Jane Fonda (I think)
