MAMMALS are named after their defining characteristic, the glands capable of sustaining a life for years after birth glands that are functional only in the female. And yet while the term mammal is based on an objective analysis of shared traits, the genus name for human beings, Homo, reflects an 18th-century masculine bias in science.
That bias, however, is becoming harder to sustain, as men become less relevant to both reproduction and parenting. Women arent just becoming mens equals. Its increasingly clear that mankind itself is a gross misnomer: an uninterrupted, intimate and essential maternal connection defines our species.
The central behaviors of mammals revolve around how we bear and raise our young, and humans are the parenting champions of the class. In the United States, for nearly 20 percent of our life span we are considered the legal responsibility of our parents.
With expanding reproductive choices, we can expect to see more women choose to reproduce without men entirely. Fortunately, the data for children raised by only females is encouraging. As the Princeton sociologist Sara S. McLanahan has shown, poverty is what hurts children, not the number or gender of parents.
Thats good, since women are both necessary and sufficient for reproduction, and men are neither. From the production of the first cell (egg) to the development of the fetus and the birth and breast-feeding of the child, fathers can be absent. They can be at work, at home, in prison or at war, living or dead.

Real deal, I am 48. I married a man 14 years older then me, because many men my age were wussies. I hate wussy men. If I wanted a wussy, I’d be a lesbian.
My wife said that it;s a shame you and the other poster live so far away as she thinks all 3 of you could have a right laugh about this.
I’m actually finding this thread very funny now.
As for this girl, now imagine if a guy wants to play on th womens teama nd he plays to win or liek my oldest son aged 14 just said”where on earth do you grab her wen you tackle her?”
LOL. I bet this "metrosexual" can out lift you....
Your oldest son sounds like he was raised right. Kudos!
Nearly spat my drink over the keyboard, LOL.
Funny you should mention that. A friend of mine has a teenaged son who is into high school wrestling. A girl barged her way onto the team and of course they let her do it, out of political correctness. My friend’s son is like, “Where do I grab her? How am I supposed to do this?” No doubt he isn’t the only boy who feels this way. They shouldn’t be made to feel uncomfortable just because this girl wants to think she’s “equal.”
:::::waving to Mrs Manc:::::
you think wearing spandex and going to a gym makes you a man
LOL
think you protst too much myself
Mrs Manc is sitting next to me and is waving back.
Have you seen post 103 LOL?
Yea I;m raising my boys to be good sons, future good husbands , fathers and to be a good man.
Sorry! Glad I don’t owe you a keyboard. But seriously, if I want a wuss, who cleans, a lesbian would be a better match.
True enough; but how much is due to affirmative-action style promotion and how much due to them actually being attracted to the Hard Sciences? Also remember that universities are fairly male unfriendly [student-wise] as the thinking that I was trying to illustrate with the last portions of my post become more and more social-norm. (i.e. the rejection of the "male attribute" of logic as desirable in-itself; that is, its acceptance or rejection is predicated upon if it agrees with some social/political ideology.)
In short: how many men give up on higher-education altogether because of ridiculous "requirements" and/or because their "natural attributes" [like logic] must be made subservient to the pushed ideologies?
About 20 years ago, when George Graham was an engineering student, there was maybe one woman in his classes, he said. Now, women make up to 30 or 40 percent of some of the engineering classes the mechanical engineer teaches as director of the Wacker Institute at Chattanooga State Community College.
Yes, but I did qualify my observation as being my own observation; and I did go to a fairly conservative school -- when my [recent American] History class was asked if Hiroshima/Nagasaki was right or wrong not a single person sided with 'wrong' {Statistically even there it was unlikely, but the teacher commented on it saying that it was "scary that the class was that conservative"} -- which means it was probably just on the line of being centrist.
<snort>
got that right, strange thing is that most homo women are trying to be a man and sad part is that some are more manly than some men today.
Saw a woman the other day and couldn’t tell if it were a man or a woman until I was close up.
Like my misses just said”as a woman I want a man, a real man , a man who knows how to treat a woman and is not spending more time getting ready to go out than me”
Nope..it's how I treat and love my gf, work hard and try to be a good person and treat people right in life.
think you protst too much myself
...and I think when you bring up the topic of pansies and metrosexuals on FR on nearly ever thread no matter what the unrelated topic is..well it's strange and pushing it/making a mountain out of a molehill..put it to rest....talk about something else will ya?
oldest 14 years old, boxer, was a state champion, a lot of girls like his looks but he is also smart, honor roll etc, and is in the ROTC and the sheriffs explorer program.
Younger son, wel he’s 9 but doesn;t cry like the boy around the corner who cries every day like a sissy. His mother treats him like a girl, the poor boy is about 100 pound maybe more and is 9.
Nveer goes out but sits there playing video games, stuffing his face with chips all day and mother is always treating him like a baby
I hope you’re right and they do find good women and my daughter finds a good manly man not some limp wristed flamer
eat a steak and you putting up that photo and saying I can lift more made me laugh anyway.
Mrs Manc here.
Thank you so much for those kind words.
You are what gives me hope for our country. Many men and women who don’t come online, but just do what they have to do. Thank YOU! For being the mom of boys.
I looked at your profile. Join the military. :)
