Six more years of Claire McCaskill and Harry Reid.
Thanks, Todd. Great decision!
Putz.
Akin was terminally stupid politically. It does not make a bit of difference if there could have been different words used to convey some sort of understanding about the chances of pregnancy occurring during a violent rape, what he said was terminally asinine.
The most important point is that his actions clearly demonstrate his poor judgment makes him unfit for office. The democrats know that the voters see this lack of judgment and stupidity, so they are rigging things to keep him in the race.
Of course, he and his wife are too stupid and self centered to see this game.
“Akin could still withdraw from the race before Sept. 25, but if he did so during that window, the Missouri GOP would have to obtain a court order to replace his name on the ballot.”
Hopefully we’ll have a Republican judge. Even if he foolishly wants to continue in the race for now, Todd will be forced out of the campaign when his funds dry up and his staff quits. Politicians have to pay the bills as well.
He is making a political calculation like a RINO.
This is all about what works for HIM and not what works for the nation.
The Repub. Senatorial Committee already dumped support for him.
He is toast. It is a stupid mistake but life sucks.
Good for him. Democrats can strangle their grandmas; but they still don’t quit about much of anything. I reckon Akin’s still beating McCaskill in the polls. As he said, hasn’t done anything morally or ethically wrong. - It’s strange Obama finally went out to face an adoring press because it looked like the Akin matter required Obama’s immediate attention - not the unemployment, not the economy, not the wars - an AKIN gaffe required his input. - Of course, he and Joe get pass after pass for their gaffes, and for Obama NOT BEING HIS BROTHER’S KEEPER, like he tells us we gotta be!
I’m no expert on rape so I won’t contribute to the learned discussion, but I do know that this comb over does not belong in the greatest deliberate body on Earth!
Well, then, we need to help him defeat McCaskill then, right?
So now we want to destroy this man because of his strong pro-life stance?
Sure, he expressed himself a bit clumsily, but the content of what he said is right on — that babies are valuable, even if conceived through very painful circumstances. Oh, and that some women say they’ve been raped, when in fact their sexual activity was consensual.
Sometimes FReepers drive me crazy, with their embracing of the mainstream media’s narrative.
Typical politician, they don’t care about the well being of the nation - just about their own political careers.
When I saw that Todd Akin had won the MO primary, I figured he would be unmercifully exposed as an oddball sometime before November, but I sure didn't think it would happen this fast... nor did I expect it to be this much of an "own goal." I have had, however, no doubts in the last 24 hours that he'd dig in his heels with the help of the congregation; zealots don't listen.
Mr. niteowl77
What a despicable douchebag. The House GOP should just expel him.
All the major radio news networks are carrying Akin’s defiance as the top story.
Virtually over night, Todd Akin has elevated (or is that submerged) himself to second place in the “Narcissist of the Year” contest.
It’s not that his comments were stupid or idiotic, it’s that he sounds like a crackpot. Believing that a woman’s body shuts down the ability to get pregnant as a result of a forcible rape is simply preposterous.
A comparable situation would be if a left-wing House member from an ultra-left wing district won a state-wide Democratic primary to become the Senate nominee, say Keith Ellison or Andre Carson. And this person was quoted as saying that 911 was a plot by Israeli intelligence and George Bush, and that the “hijackers” were really deep-cover Mossad agents.
The Democrats, who excuse a lot in their nominees, would demand that this person step down because he sounded like a crackpot.
Sometimes you can be pro-life and conservative and a crackpot.
The check from Soros cleared his account.
“I haven’t done anything morally or ethically wrong,”
What world does this idiot live in?
If getting elected had only to do with ethics and morals we wouldn’t have the current idiot in the White House, nor would we have had Bill Clinton, John Kennedy, FDR, or assorted other scoundrels in there.
Its about a lot more.
And flushing that witch (figuratively - no attack meant on Wiccans) McCaskell out of office is more important to the salvation of America than this idiot’s political career.
