Good for him. Democrats can strangle their grandmas; but they still don’t quit about much of anything. I reckon Akin’s still beating McCaskill in the polls. As he said, hasn’t done anything morally or ethically wrong. - It’s strange Obama finally went out to face an adoring press because it looked like the Akin matter required Obama’s immediate attention - not the unemployment, not the economy, not the wars - an AKIN gaffe required his input. - Of course, he and Joe get pass after pass for their gaffes, and for Obama NOT BEING HIS BROTHER’S KEEPER, like he tells us we gotta be!

Do not trust polls that have not had at least a week on any issue to percolate through the thinking of the voting public. People usually come to the right decision given a little time, and this is of too little time yet to have a rational opinion.

If the Democrats can open this up into another wedge issue to demonstrate the “culture of corruption” among Republicans, and particularly Conservative-leaning candidates, then far more than just one Senate seat is at stake. For those of you who have forgotten, there was a “Macaca moment”, when the loss of a Senate seat in Virginia became inevitable, George Allen was eliminated. And he had been a bright, articulate star that would have stood in line for potential Presidential consideration.

The consequences of Todd Akin NOT stepping aside may be more dreadful than anyone can conceive. As of this moment, Todd Akin is probably trailing Claire McCaskill, and it is not at all certain that he could make up the difference.

No, he’s not beating her in the polls, the Democrat pollster had to do something like a 12-pt swing oversampling MO Republicans just to show him competitive (and no doubt try to encourage him to stay in).

If giving not just a Senate seat but the whole Senate to the Dems isn’t immoral and wrong, I don’t know what is!

The same numbnuts at this thread who think the people of Missouri will vote for McCaskill because of Akin's incomprehensible comment were out in farce this morning.
