Chelsea Clinton won't rule out a political run
Politico ^ | August 14, 2012 | Caitlin McDevitt

Chelsea Clinton isn’t ruling out a future in politics, she tells Vogue. The former first daughter, who has long avoided the press, let journalist Jonathan Van Meter follow her around “for weeks” for a new profile in the magazine’s September issue. From the piece:

People around Chelsea have noticed a change in her, too. “As she’s been exposed to the foundation and to what her father’s doing with his post-presidential life,” says Hillary Clinton’s deputy chief of staff, Huma Abedin, “I think a light switched on: This is the legacy I’m going to inherit. To say it is an incredible one is an understatement. She now knows that in 20, 30 years, everything about her father’s legacy is in her hands. It’s going to be Chelsea’s responsibility to carry that torch. This is the core of what her grandmother encouraged her to do: embrace her inheritance.”

In many ways, she already has.

Torches, legacies...The Left really does long for a Royal family and the old aristocracy. To them it is all about your bloodline, class, skin color, social status.

By 2016 Hillary will be at a point where all the king’s horses, and all the king’s men, and even all of Nancy Pelosi’s plastic surgeons won’t be able to put her back together again for a viable POTUS run.

So it’s on to Clintonistas: The Next Generation.
The Dynasty MUST live on!

Let her.

She’ll be massacred. By other contenders of the same party.

The Clinton name has nowhere near the panache and weight of the Kennedys. And will have far less after November, 2012.

That what I always want to know. We see these puff pieces about Chelsea Mezvinsky from time to time. But none of them identify her as Chelsea Mezvinsky, nor do they ever mention how her married life is going. It’s as if we’re supposed to forget that she was ever married.

I guess we’re not supposed to ask whatever happened to her husband, or where he is, or do they even live together anymore, or what the deal is with all of that.

Reminds me of W.

Chelsea is a loser but I hate when people go after their looks. Some of those doing so are likely no trips to Hollywood.

Rest assured, given the advance of gerrymandering there will always be some safe district in a blue state where they can comfortably slip her in to a Congressional seat. (though since she has her mother’s hips perhaps she has to hope they have Tip O’Neill’s old seat lying around).

Not that I am totally without sympathy for Chelsea. I can only imagine how horrible it must have been to be a student sitting in your dorm when everyone around you was busy downloading and reading the Starr Report.

No more Clintons, Bushes, Kennedys, Roosevelts, or Rockefellers.

Agreed and I cringe every time I hear the shrub of the Florida Bush being touted as the future political standard bearer of the Bush family.

This is the legacy I’m going to inherit.

"Lying Communist con-artist" is no way to go through life, son.

When did she find the time for all of those degrees. She’s spent most of her live flitting around the world or attending celebrity events.

I don’t see this as a big deal. In fact, if she were to run for a seat in Congress in a New York district she’d probably find herself comparing very favorably to some of the other @ssholes who currently hold those seats or who have recently held them (see Rangel, Charles and Weiner, Anthony as Exhibits A and B).

God bless her she will have to get a “personality” before running for office.

I think a constitutional amendment is in order. One that reads that no one can run for office whose surname is the same as a previous office holder. You know, like Bush, or Kennedy, or ... well, like Clinton.

I loathe dynastic politics.

The Kennedys. The Hahns (of CA). The Bushes. In a way, The Romneys.

I don't like "inherited" seats either whether by widows (Boggs, Bono, Carnihan) or children (Hunter).

Our founding rejected the idea of inherited power, why do voters seem to love it so much.

So, to miss Chelsea I say this: find your OWN identity and do that.

Amazing what a whole lot of plastic surgery can do! And she isn’t even 35 yet.
Buy the time she’s 45, she’ll look just like Joan Rivers ir the Wildenstein cat lady.
BTW What ever happened to her “marriage”

“She is the closest thing to a royal princess as it’s possible to get in America.
In other words – an upper class twit who doesn’t know sh*t about sh*t.”

What are you smoking? Pure trash, just like Slick and PIAPS.
