NORFOLK, Va. (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Wisconsin congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate, according to a Republican with knowledge of the development. They will appear together Saturday in Norfolk, Va., at the start of a four-state bus tour to introduce the newly minted GOP ticket to the nation.

Another four years of Obama and the 2016 election won’t matter:
No one is going to ask if Paul Ryan reads any newspapers. He beats Palin I n that regard.
Now every member of the media is researching to find any dirt, any lie , anything that will smear and destroy Ryan as the media did to Palin. All one million of these media maggots will do this.
I just can't ever do that, you are brave.

Romney campaign confirms Paul Ryan as running mate
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has picked Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice presidential running mate, the Romney campaign confirmed on Saturday.
Mitts choice for VP is Paul Ryan. Spread the word about Americas comeback team, a Romney campaign app said, confirming widespread reports he had selected the 42-year-old Wisconsin lawmaker who chairs the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee.........
@djlaysitup.
Shut your cake hole, troll
Well, now I can vote for Ryan, just like I voted for Palin last time!
The race will be reduced to TP vs OWS.
Guess how that battle turns out?
Proud Americans from the heartland or drugged up hippies $hitting on cop cars.
Which will voters choose?

If Mittens had picked Portman or Pawlenty I would have drank poison.
And if it was Rubio, I would have shredded my pocket Constitution.(1)
(1) sorry 'Alice', he's not eligible. Parents were not citizens when he was born.
The Republicans have a deep bench of excellent future potential Presidents in the House. Cantor is the obvious one that comes to mind, but there are others. In addition there are many talented young Republican governors and senators.
That is why the Teddy Roosevelt analogy dosen’t fly.
Sometimes things are as they appear—I belive this is one of those times (and there are few on this board that can match my cynicism towards Beltway politics).
Yes!
“Quite the opposite. He’d have nothing to lose in a second term.”
Exactly. He’s already gone over the top with “executive orders”, just imagine what a second term would be like.
Overall I like the Ryan pick, the one thing it shows for sure is the Romney campaign is laser-focused on the economy. Plus, he’s a Tea Party favorite, and the Tea Party needs to get rolling as the election approaches.
I like this pick. Just wish Paul Ryan was on the top of the ticket. Why didn’t he run for the GOP nomination instead of Romney?
I think this is a great team in many, many ways.
Romney has actually created businesses and jobs, and yes, he has fired people. (Note to bleeding-heart libs: Firing someone isn’t the definition of evil. No one should be entitled to a job for life. Firing someone doesn’t mean they will never work again. Firing can put someone on notice that they are lazy and need to get busy. It can remove someone from a job they are unhappy with and not good at and give them an opportunity to find something better. It can spur someone to go back to school and polish their skills.)
Ryan understands “fiscal responsibility” in great detail. His knowledge of 0bamaTax and his performance in debating it was masterful.
“Ryan will preach fiscal responsibility...
The questions is, “Is it too little, too late?”

BTW, the youth is not going to turn out for the assclown Kenyan this time. That is 100% Spot On.
I know they're ticked as our two daughters, especially our youngest and her friends are that 'Youth'. And her friends who may have or did vote vote for Barry last time are not happy campers now -- They've been LIED to, and they know it. They're pretty much all 'under-employed'. That BS and BA degree they have means diddle now, except for what they owe for it. And they know they're going to have to pay it - no 'amnesty for them'. Now matter what lies Barry spews.Bottom line -- they loathe Obama and his big living mama.Included nn that group are the 'youth' with BSEd and BAEd degrees who've only been able to get TA Jobs and had the 'pleasure' of experiencing Union BS and verbal thuggery first hand by their NEA Teacher 'superiors'. So now they're anti-union too. (they have to pay Union Dues but get NO NEA benefits, like Pay or Healthcare.)
Romney has created an interesting meme for the remainder of his campaign. We all now he is a Northeastern conservative which makes him slightly less liberal than Obama. By taking on a VP choice that is the poster boy for fiscal conservatism he positions himself as the liberal who can actually reach across the aisle and work with the conservatives and still have a proven liberal track record.
It is a perfect story for the Obama voters who are on the fence.
Ryan: “Hiding spending does not reduce spending.”
This quote is worth repeating. The democrats are like the kid who gets hold of the parents’ credit card, goes on a shopping spree, and hides the loot in the closet. The story has to come out eventually. For America, eventually is now. It may be painful to deal with, but more lies are not going to fix this problem. The kid needs to make amends. The adults need to formulate a rational plan for that.
We blew it.
