First a little bit about CBO: I work with them every single day; very good people; great professionals. They do their jobs well. But their job is to score what is placed in front of them. And what has been placed in front of them is a bill that is fill of gimmicks and smoke and mirrors.

Now what do I mean when I say that?

First off, the bill has ten years of tax increases and ten years of Medicare cuts to pay for six years of spending. The true ten year cost when subsidies kick-in? $2.3 trillion.

The bill is full of gimmicks that more than erase the false claim of deficit reduction:

Obama’s budget? You mean the one that he sent to the Senate that did not garner one vote....even all of the Dems voted against it.

You "could" be right. We will have to see. I am an Engineer not a financial guy, but I do follow that macro economic situation closely. We are at the cliff and heading over full speed. If we dont have this conversation with the American people NOW or if the sheeple MSM soaked electorate wants their freebies, it will be too late either way.

Even IF these guys win and pick up the Senate, there may still be too many RINO's to stop us from meaningful reform. It's now or never...and by never we all know what comes next and that wont be pretty.

I am sure they will Palinize and Bork Paul Ryan. But I cant think of anyone better to make the argument to the American people. Ballot box or Cartridge box. Thats where we are at, IMO.

BTW, I love Palin and wish she were running for POTUS. I loved her in 2008 but the impact of her message, limited to her VP candidate role, was not enough to overcome McCain (and thus Obama). Palin is charismatic and on point. Ryan does not seem to be a dynamic, charismatic personality, but he seems conversant in the details of why we are in the economic disaster we are in and why we are facing a pending economic collapse. It's hard to imagine an accountant type could energize and mobilize more Americas than the charismatic voice in 2008 that resonated with many of us.

Having said all that, I think something may be up, but I'm not sure what it is. Maybe it's a hunch. Or faith in God. But I think something will happen to turn this thing around - I don't believe that America's time is up quite yet. I hope to God Ryan and as many people as possible come to the aid of our country and pull it out of the jaws of the enemy (in this case the enemy within).

I must say, my bitter disappointment with Palin's demur has been somewhat assuaged as I've recently seen Paul Rubio on the horizon. Something's going to have to happen in the meantime to keep America afloat, but with people like Rubio and others on the horizon, America may still have some bright days ahead.

I disagree. Romney wants to appiear above it. NOW, his surogates, they need to hammar Obama relentlessly..even mocking him. In my not so humble oppinion.
What frustrates me is when Romney misses opportunities for easy points.

Good idea. However the problem is that the masses listen only to sound bites lasting a few seconds — and then forget the message within a day. In my opinion, very short messages need to be hammered several times a day.
