A powerful New York politician claims she was just speaking as a private citizen when she tried to run Chick-fil-A out of town, but she used her official letterhead and even invoked her position as City Council speaker to apply pressure on the embattled chicken chain.
New York City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who has mayoral aspirations, sent a letter to New York University president John Sexton on Saturday asking the school to immediately end their contract with the fast food restaurant. The Atlanta-based company's sole New York City outlet is in the school's food court.
"I write as the Speaker of the NYC Council, and on behalf of my family. NYC is a place where we celebrate diversity. We do not believe in denigrating others. We revel in the diversity of all our citizens and their families,” the letter begins.
"Let me be clear -- I do not want establishments in my city that hold such discriminatory views," Quinn, an open lesbian who recently married her longtime partner, also wrote in the letter. "We are a city that believes our diversity is our greatest strength and we will fight anything and anyone that runs counter to that."

We need to find a name for this showdown against Christian-owned businesses. This is the beginning of bullying tactics which will eventually culminate in no Christians being allowed to do business in our country.

I do not see how Obama and his partisans will win this battle provided we do our part in making sure everyone is aware of this anti-Christian Democratic party.
I think that those who want CFA gone are finding out that there are such things as contracts, and upsetting fruits and their shower buddies are no legal reason to void them.
The difference between liberals and conservatives:
Liberals will demand special treatment when they attend an event, and only attend if it benefits themselves. If the food's not free, or there are no cameras, no reporters, or they're not getting paid, they don't bother.
Conservatives will attend an event even if it means they have to 'wait in line' and they will do so politely and with good humor, and proudly pay to support a worthy cause.
McDonalds wishes they could get half as 'embattled'.

1. Chick-Fil-A unlike you madam does not discriminate. The founder has a personal view point which in America he is entitled to!

It being that she has PUBLICLY declared herself a LESBIAN, I'm feel safe in saying that she is well-practiced at back-pedaling.
Chances are 99 in 100 that NYU will capitulate to the mad lesbian's demand by the time the president of the university comes back from his summer vacation.
As mayoress, this witch Quinn would be even worse than Bloomberg for government meddling into the private sector.
As I stood in line at our local CFA today, I could not help thinking how everyone was smiling, and polite, and courteous. Had this been a bunch of Liberals, there would have been riots, looting, fighting, trash everywhere, and the cops would have been arresting people instead of directing traffic.
Ah..... I think the phrase should be.... "frolics in stupidity."

So I want Christine Quinn to explain to us why she has not targeted muslim-owned businesses. Islam does not support gay marriage and in some muslim countries gays are put to death.
Let’s hear Christine tell us why it’s ok for the Muslims to honor their beliefs and everyone else has to follow HER directive.
Despite her claims not to be using govt pressure, NYU has a vote coming before theCouncil on major expansion and land acquisition. This coming from the President of the City Council can only be seen as a threat to deny NYU’s applications unless they sever their relationship with CF A. Fascist thuggery.

She is being groomed to be the next Mayor of NYC. That is how Bloomers got his 3rd term. Don’t think it’s going to go over to well. There are still a LOT of Christians in NYC suburbs that can blow her bubble out of the water.
