Dallas-area fans of Chick-fil-A showed up in droves at the fast-food restaurant today to show their support for the chains stance on marriage.
I was drawn to Chick-fil-A this morning not only because it is Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, but because the company supports the biblical definition of marriage, said Richard Norris, a first-time Chick-fil-A customer visiting the Preston Road location. Theyve always stood for good Christian values.
Norris was among thousands of customers who ate mor chikin today, lining up to heed the call of conservative pundits who stood behind the Atlanta-based companys leader. Lines of cars snaked around the block in Upper Greenville, and in the underground location downtown there was extra security and a two-hour wait to order.
A torrent of criticism from the gay community was unleashed last month after Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy told the Baptist Press that the Atlanta-based company was guilty as charged for backing the biblical definition of a family.
Customers at Dallas Chick-fil-A restaurants had no criticism for Cathy on Wednesday.
Frederic Martin planned to eat all three meals at Chick-fil-A as to statement for Christian values. With each bite of his oatmeal and yogurt parfait, chicken sandwich and chicken-fruit salad, he says he is taking a stand against the people who want to utterly destroy the Judeo-Christian values this country is built upon.
People who are boycotting Chick-fil-A are full of hatred against the God they do not know and against the Constitution they have not read, the 66-year-old said.
Radio host and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee declared Wednesday national Chick-fil-A Appreciation Day, and more than 600,000 people declared their intentions to participate on the Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/events/266281243473841/) set up by the one-time presidential candidate and Baptist minister.

If you visited one of their restaurants today, please post your experience to this thread. This is happening all across the US, except NY where we do not have any Chick Fil A restaurants.

Wham! Out of the park.
We need an equivalent "Chicken Sandwich Salesman of the Year" poster.
Scottsdale 10:30 AM. Parking lot full, line back into seating section that just kept growing. Everyone talking to one and another. Old couples, young people with children, retired corporate lawyer, EMT’s, mechanics, cross section of America. One man and his wife, he looked like Alice Cooper, wife took a picture of him in the restaurant, and as they left he kept repeating loudly God Bless America. Kind of felt sorry for the order takers, so early and they already looked kind of frazzled. Definitely a positive experience and makes you believe again.
On his radio program today, Rush Limbaugh said emails were pouring in from all parts of the country describing the scenes at their local Chick Fil A restaurants. In one town, the local Wendy’s changed their sign to read - Eat at Chick Fil A today! I’ll bet that drove in customers to Wendy’s, as well.
I went to the one by us at Preston and 121 in Plano, TX at lunch ant it took me 35 minutes to place my order in the drive thru... The line wrapped around the building twice! It was amazing! The McDonalds next door had no one in the drive thru line. While waiting I could see inside and it was standing room only....I was listening to Rush while waiting and he was talking about it saying he had been bombarded with emails about packed chick-fil-as. He said this is a good indicator about how fed up People are with everything that is going on, he called it the chick-fil-a revolution!!
There is 1 listed at University Plaza. Did they close?
I was going to cut and paste that with a few comments. Thank you! You’re right, and it looked like a grand slam from here!
Guess what complainers, the gig is up. You can only push people so far, and then even those who try to treat you nice, will finally get a belly full.
That’s a belly full of Chick-Fil-A of course. ;^)
Schaumburg Il was nutso schizo in the last hour with news choppers and lines wrapped around the building including the drive thru.
Chick Fil A had double drive thru lines, lines out both doors, police directing traffic. The parking lot nearby was overflowing with cars, cars were wrapped around the building with 3 feeder lines into the drive thru, and there wasn't a seat in the house.
Folks were polite, helpful, patient. The staff was hustling like crazy with two (2) managers up front and every register was ringing.
Brought the entire family, spent a fortune ordering tons of extra food. Told the cashier and the manager that "We've got your back. Don't be afraid to speak for what you believe in."
The cashier, a young lady probably just starting college, smiled and replied, "It's obvious!"
Lone Star Tea Party was interviewing people on camera as they came outside. Folks were taking cellphone pictures because they thought the media would pull their usual black-out.
Order was perfect and the food was great! When I left, the lines had not diminished at all...they were even longer.
An elected official in NY is trying to get the university to cancel it’s contract. There is a thread here about it.
Yeah. CNN reported that Ckick-fil-A was doing well in one Bible Belt store.
(Apparently Tampa FL, is now deep in the Bible Belt)...
We will eat there tonight.
FB friends are posting pictures of CFA lines.
On Michele Malkin’s site twitchy.com people from across the country are posting pictures also.
Huckabee posted pictures from the Chicago CFA. There were huge lines at that one also.
Great support!
1,600 franchises out there, and I have to live in the state where the CFA owner is a homo-sympathizer (Nashua, NH)...
Unreal..
I just saw that; however, I’m currently on a cat thread. Once I respond I will check it out.
Does not surprise me at all!
I want to go back friday and interview the one or three whackjobs protesting ...thats if i can get through the lines.
