As the use of smart phones grows across the nation, both President Obama and Mitt Romney are seeking to leverage the technology with new campaign apps.
The Romney campaign on Tuesday launched a free app called "Mitt's VP," which will allow users to learn who Romney has chosen to serve as his running mate as soon as it's announced.
"There's no telling when Mitt will choose his VP. But when he does, be the first to find out with Mitt's VP app," the campaign teased on its website.
The app, available on iPhone and Android platforms, will give users immediate notification and let them share the news on social media.
Now that his trip abroad has wrapped up, Romney is expected to announce his vice presidential pick soon. One of his potential choices, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, promoted the new app via Twitter, sending out the message, "Who will be @MittRomney VP?

Voice: "Your living choices are Richard Cheney, Republican, Daniel Quayle, Republican, Joseph Biden, Democrat and Albert Gore, Jr. Democrat."
Mitt: "No, Siri, I'm talking about someone who is qualified to be vice president and is a Republican."
Voice: "Are you kidding? This could take all day."
Mitt: "Hopefully one who is as conservative as I am."
Voice: "You're not helping me much."
Mitt: "Okay, someone who is articulate, charismatic, capable to be president if I'm not able to perform the duties of the office, has leadership skills, has a track record of balanced budgets and can help me get elected."
Voice: "Why not Sarah Palin?"
Mitt: (sigh) "Okay, let's start over..."

It’s “Meh” to most of us, but read “Obama Zombies” by Jason Mattera, and you’ll see the wisdom of obtaining the emails, twitter accounts, and text-message ID’s of thousands of young voters.
Seems one must provide a mailing address to use the app.
