Laura Ingraham interviewed gun rights advocate John Lott. He recounted a conversation with then-Senator Obama who told Lott: I dont believe people should be able to own guns.

Good one.
Other than that, he promises to support the rest of it unless something else comes up.
This guy isn’t fit to be president on any level.

FactCheck: Yes, Obama endorsed Illinois handgun ban
“Obama was being misleading when he denied that his handwriting had been on a document endorsing a state ban on the sale and possession of handguns in Illinois. Obama responded, No, my writing wasnt on that particular questionnaire. As I said, I have never favored an all-out ban on handguns.
Actually, Obamas writing was on the 1996 document, which was filed when Obama was running for the Illinois state Senate. A Chicago nonprofit, Independent Voters of Illinois, had this question, and Obama took hard line:
35. Do you support state legislation to:
a. ban the manufacture, sale and possession of handguns? Yes.
b. ban assault weapons? Yes.
c. mandatory waiting periods and background checks? Yes.
Obamas campaign said, Sen. Obama didnt fill out these state Senate questionnairesa staffer didand there are several answers that didnt reflect his views then or now. He may have jotted some notes on the front page of the questionnaire, but some answers didnt reflect his views.

Interesting. Thanks.
I remember viewing the Alinsky interview before. Definitely worth viewing. The Kurtz video is also very important and I am looking forward to his book.

“Audio at link”
Now that there is audio of Obama stating that Americans should not be able to own guns, the tape will hopefully find its way into a Romney commercial.
Still, that message (and others) need to be hammered over and over until the “33%” that blow with the wind get the picture
When did BHO say this?
Only references I can find and there are many, he said “some people should not be allowed to own guns”.
This was said in a conversation to John Lott. Lott is telling us.
They were paraphrasing...the last 8 words of his comment.
CCW class will be completed by next week. Have to get it in prior to the next election.
Obama hasn't changed, and the opposition against him hasn't changed. The only thing different in 2008 was that the total news blackout was more effective, because he had no record.

This is a well known exception: admission against interest by a party opponent.
It's clearly against Obama's interest to admit that he doesn't believe people should own guns. And if ever there was an opponent - of freedom, of citizens, of the United States - then he is it.
Just hearsay, unfortunately. Probably true, but without proof there’s no way to make it stick.

I'm pretty sure Lott recounted this to Michelle Malkin during the 2008 campaign - there were threads on it right here.
Asked - and answered - in the audio clip...

There was definitely more discussion of this topic - and not just here on FR. Can't blame Lott for not warning us, regardless of the fact that he didn't have proof of Obama's comment.
