As we wait for Mitt Romney to pick his running mate in the next few weeks, the last successful GOP running mate has been privately advising the current GOP nominee and the head of his VP search committee, Beth Myers. Cheney believes that the #2 slot has to be filled with someone ready to take over the top job on Day 1 and that John McCain flunked that test in 2008. In an interview with ABC News Jonathan Karl, Cheney called the selection of Sarah Palin a mistake:

I had planned on not voting for Mc Cain. After he picked Palin, against my better judgement I voted for him. I will not vote for Romney.
F U Cheney.
” my my how times change...that woulda got ya banned her in 2003..”
People, even Freepers, simply refuse to look at the facts and records of people once they’ve ‘fallen’ for their beloved candidates. It’s ALL about emotion. They’ll do anything but admit they were mistaken in picking the jerk in the first place! My GAWD, they’re not having a personal relationship with these politicians but you’d never know it. The emotion has to go or we are sunk!
Dick Cheney’s son in law was buried deep in the Justice Dept, partly responsible for Ramos/Compean prosecution and all kinds of nefarious junk. Cheney’s domestic policy advisor Cesar Conda helped destroy prop 187 in Calif and is an amnesty pusher who went to work for Soros.
All these politicians want is power and they don’t care who they use to get it! Democrats use blacks, gays, etc. Repubicans use the Christian right, 2nd amendment folks, etc.
The point is WE ARE ALL BEING USED, but damn at least throw out some of the users once in a while! Or at least admit who they are!
But Algore would have been worse!
Dick’s gone limp!
Agreed. Who would have guessed that the MSM would throw their own rule about not beating up on a girl out the window and attack her almost 24/7 with fabricated BS. She got it from the MSM worse than Justice Clarence Thomas ever did. I’d still vote for her today.
I never got all the Cheney worship. It seemed like he had an agenda of his own that didn't have much in common with conservatism.
I do understand why so many people like and admire Palin, though some times I think they don't see her clearly enough.
But now that Cheney's set himself in opposition to Palin, people are going to have to rethink where they stand.
>> “Had McCain picked a southern governor of some sort who had faced off the media and had some experience...it might have swung 500k votes over toward McCain.” <<
.
Bullshit!
Every vote McSlime got was a vote for Palin.
SO VERY TRUE!
It was Sarah who turned me around, NOT McCain.
Cheney is blaming Palin because that's how the "good ol' boy" club operates.
If he disparaged McCain he'd be expelled.
With the exception of Sarah Palin, they're ALL pretty much DIP$HITS.
Hes scared of her because shes a Conservative AND a woman and has the mascaline gumption he lacks and hes having his peons attack her again...
????????????????????
Did you think Romney said that about Palin?
Or do you think Cheney is somehow Romney's peon?
Or do you just not care?
You personally think ... basic on exactly what? IAC, the ticket lost because the economy caved and everyone —including the White House was sending out signals that Obama was acceptible, even preferable. McCain was at total dud at the conference in DC after September 15, The secretary of the treasury did not like Palin and in his apologia dissed her. What grinds on the Establishment is her persona. Obama looks and talks like one of them. Even Joe Biden looks right even though he talks like an idiot son. As for you advise about her career, she is smart enough to know that what you are saying is nonsense. Timing is everything.
Backing McCain = WRONG.
Would have won with Palin/McCain.
Lost with McCain/Palin.
There was no reason for the real conservatives to turn out, after they were handed capt’n mcqueeg at the top of the ticket.
MCain was a terrible candidate. Everyone who spoke at the convention before hi, and not just Palin, gave a better address. And he didnt improve. Like Bob Dole in 1996, he was old, listless, determined not to burn any bridges.
“Hey DICK, want to win??? How about giving us conservatives top of the ticket instead of arch RINOs like Romney.”
Well, Romney was the other choice in 2008.
Palin was the only bold thing that McCain did. Probably you are right. The Establishment wanted Romney and he could not abide the man.
I believe Palin was a bold choice. I believe Quayle hurt Bush-1 but he survived. Quayle had been an upcoming bright Senator (ala Rubio) but the media sliced and diced him from the git-go.
I don’t know. If McCain didn’t pick her, she’d still be governor and she’d have a political future. A chance for VP? President? Who knows but she doesn’t have anything now because she was taken out so soon.
Any homosexual-Satan promoter, like Cheney, has the ideology of Marx/Atheists/Satanists/Progressives, etc. (Godlessness).
Cheney and his “family” are reviled by the ideas (of Sarah Palin ) which just happen to be the ideology of the Foundering Fathers and of Natural Law Theory that made America Great and Just—that along with the Great Designer of Nature-—God, whose Standards of Right and Wrong underlie our Jurisprudence system and the ideology of Palin. (It used to before Holmes,jr)
Cheney is adopting the standards of Satan—he sold his soul to the devil and Marxists. Bush was probably a plant by the puppetmasters, also—cuz he gave us zero.
Kissinger and the others that indulge in homosexual orgies and sacrifice at the Bohemian clubs-—are Cheney’s cohorts and they are trying to create a One World Satanic-controlled World that eliminates God.
Exactly...lost a bit of respect for Cheney on this one.
I've never understood why there is so much Cheney love at FR.
Cheney himself was a “mistake” to be VP on the 2004 ticket
Maybe in 2004 if Cheney had stepped down and Bush had picked a healthy viable VP who could have headed the ticket in 2008, we wouldn’t have ended up with the political loser McCain
Name one accomplishment of Cheney from 2004- 2008
Throwing Scooty Libby to the wolves doesn’t count
