Three survivors of the Colorado movie-theater massacre escaped with minor wounds, but were left with broken hearts because their heroic boyfriends died saving them.
In final acts of valor, Jon Blunk, Matt McQuinn and Alex Teves used their bodies to shield their girlfriends as accused madman James Holmes turned the Aurora cineplex into a shooting gallery.
Blunk’s girlfriend, Jansen Young; McQuinn’s girlfriend, Samantha Yowler; and Teves’ gal pal Amanda Lindgren made it out of the bloodbath — but they would have been killed had it not been for the loves of their lives.
“He’s a hero, and he’ll never be forgotten,” a tearful Jansen Young told the Daily News of Blunk. “Jon took a bullet for me.”
She was too distraught to speak more, but her mother called Blunk, 25, who had two young children from a previous relationship, “a gentleman.”
“He was loving, the kind of guy you want your daughter to be with, and ultimately, she’s alive because of this, because he protected her,” Shellie Young said.
She said Blunk, a security guard, had served in the Navy and had recently filled out papers to reenlist with a goal of becoming a Navy SEAL. “To her, he was a hero anyway because he wanted to serve his country,” she said of her daughter, who was left with shrapnel wounds to her side. “He said that all the time: ‘I was born to serve my country.’”

You know, when it is just a count, it seems unreal.
When you put faces and actions to the victims the reality sets in.
I was sort of unfazed by the coverage until that guy’s dad called into Hannity. When he talked about his son (talking babout) turning and seeing half his g/f’s face gone I almost lost it, right in public.
It is part of being human, I know...
These men are heroes and should be remembered as heroes. They died making the ultimate sacrifice. Not thinking of themselves, but thinking of others. God bless them and their families

Meanwhile, the theaters who allow their EMERGENCY EXITS to be used indiscriminately without sounding alarms need to get these things working. It is, after all, SAFETY EQUIPMENT.

The shooting starts & the boyfriend bolts & leaves the woman to fend for herself with the 2 kids.
SHE got help from a black man, but her ‘baby daddy’ LEFT HER and the kids!!!!!
That’s the reality of todays country we live in where the constitution is all but shredded: When it comes to self defense, you have to die.
I heard already there is talk about suing the movie theater and the gun companies. What good is that going to do? The only result will be money crossing palms. It won’t change anything.
They want to really do something, how about they sue those who swear to protect and defend the constitution but instead shred it? Probably won’t even make it to court, but it will put the spotlight on the other villans in this story like Mike Bloomberg, Carolyn McCarthy, Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi....All of whom are protected by armed guards 24 hours a day. These are the people who for years have been telling every dead person in that theater “You’re destiny is to die because my ideaology is more important than the constitution and more important than your life.”
These ladies are probably thinking, just give me 5 minutes with this creep, just 5 minutes.

Because everyone knows that body armor is ineffective against projectiles fired by well meaning people. That is a universal law. Sort of like how all bad guys are bad shots.
I agree..all of these “gun control advocates” are hypocrites. If ANYONE in that theater had been allowed to carry a firearm into the theater they could have taken this prick down for sure. These “Gun free zones” dont prevent anything, look at Chicago for proof of that. I just read how the youngest shooting victim’s mother(Who was shot in the stomach and neck) was pregnant..so this monster also took the life of an unborn child
The Chief of Police immediately started bragging about how fast the cops arrived on the scene, saying it was about a minute and a half. I wondered how? Is the police station located beside the theater? Maybe one cop because of the expected massive crowd at the after the movie?
The next day when I heard the shooter was alone in the theater for 20 minutes shooting 72 people, I wondered how in the hell this is possible. 20 minutes is a long time for someone to be mowing people down an no cop to respond? So no one in that theater watching the movie, or the people working the concession stand called the cops for over 20 minutes??
Something don’t add up here folks.

Why not? According to their worldview, these young men were being “sexist” and “patriarchal” for protecting the lives of their women. I figure the NOW hags would hate them.
Ever hear of a headshot? The human head is a much larger target than many competent pistol shooters will group at, even at 20 yards.
