I am setting my front porch flag upside down tomorrow.
I will leave it up and set that way, through November.
Setting the flag right will depend on whether or not we move to setting the ship of state right.
On June 28th I took down the American flag and put up the Texas state flag and it will remain up until things turn around.
Flying the US flag upside down is an SOS, stating that we are in distress and require immediate assistance. It means we may not survive without help from another. To whom are we reaching out for assistance? China? Are we citizens no longer able to help ourselves?
I Fly the Betsy Ross Flag on the 4th
thank you for your educational home page.
I didn’t know. Now I do.
Not wishing to sully her with the forseeable shame of the ObamaNation of Desolation, I “triangled” and shelved Old Glory on January 20, 2009; after the Santelli event I got around to putting up the Gadsden in her stead.
So it shall be until the Stepson of Perdition is replaced.
I recommend saving the “distress signal” until you need someone to come to your literal rescue. Otherwise, it’s like calling 911 to complain about Solyndra— valid complaint, wrong methodology.
Totally agree with you...NEVER fly our flag upside down.
Now the Kenyan flag..that’s a different story.
No.
I don't care what democrats do. They are socialists. The flag has no real meaning to them. They only use it to make a mockery of it. (Whether they realize it or not.)
If I had a Gadsden, I'd probably be flying that.
But my country IS in distress. So, I'm really OK with my decision. Thanks anyway.
ts like calling 911 to complain about Solyndravalid complaint, wrong methodology.
Spot on!
Very sad.
So retire the flag.
Or start calling 911 to complain about the state of The Republic.
BTW Gadsden and other flags can be bought quite inexpensively online.
You may do what you want but indicating personal distress is wrong.
Enjoy the 4th! No sarcasm...seriously have a great 4th! We may disagree but we are FReepers!
To fly Old Glory upsidedown is indeed childish and shows no understanding of protocol or maturity.
That 911 analogy was so good! Brevity is the soul of wit.
I must be witless, LOL!
There is no law (that I know of) that says you HAVE TO fly the American Flag on Independence Day.
Not flying one on that day would make a statement. If you always have a Flag flying, not having one that day would have an effect.
Maybe you could fly the Flag correctly but at half mast? I don’t know if that’s appropriate, but it would be mourning for America.
Side note: My neighbor is flying FOUR HUGE American Flags in her front yard, ONE on her flagpole and THREE in her back yard. She also has American Flag half circle banners around her front porch. I haven’t checked if she has any mini flags in her whiskey barrels.
Looking at her display, all I can think is that she is extremely happy with obamacare.
If I recall correctly, a navy ship hoists it’s flag up the ship’s highest point as a message to all approaching ships that it is a ship at war.
And that is the signal I DON'T want to send. It's not just ObamaCare. Our institutions are collapsing before our eyes.
Or extremely proud of her country, regardless of what the Demorats do.
Has she only started flying them since the SCOTUS descision? Does she usually decorate for patriotic holidays? Why do you draw that conclusion?
