Somebody remind me...
6-29-12 | Fait Accompli

Posted on 06/29/2012 5:36:00 AM PDT by Corwin of Amber

Weren't moslems exempted from o-care? And...to be considered legitimate/legal, a tax has to apply to all equally?

Please tell me if my memory is failing, or if I'm just stupid today, or if I'm right. No offense will be taken—life is too short.

And what about all of the exemptions that 0 granted to his supporters? Can the president arbitrarily exempt his friends from paying taxes?

This is a very good point and needs to be explored. I’m pretty sure the Amish and similar religious groups were also exempted from paying.

And ...

How does this impact those organizations that already have been exempted?

What about those 28 states that are suing to ‘opt out’ of Obamacare.

==

This SC decision has created a legalistic boondoggle. The bill is so massive that no one still knows what is in it. Lawyers will have a steady stream of income for years due to the lawsuits.

Yep, this is a wealth transfer from ‘rats enemy to ‘rats friends.

Liberalism is the political expression of the religion of Humanism, whose founder is Satan himself (Genesis 3 - you will be as gods).

So, with every policy out of the left, you can see a de facto punishment of Christ’s people and a benefit of His enemies.

Any state can opt out and the Feds cannot penalize them.

But then again “some” states are embracing the approach of Obamacare.

Texas, Florida and Wisconsin are opting out I believe.

Guess we all need to join a union, convert to Islam and move to Pilosi's district in California. Then just disregard anything unless it pertains to others. Oh Nirvana is found!

I would like to see Boner exploit this angle and purpose legislation allowing for broad religious and philodophical exemptions to the mandate. If the Amish and Muslims can get it, it only stands that all should be allowed.

You are absolutely right...amd they will retain their exemption because it is against their ‘religion’ to obtain insurance of any kind.

Christians have an option, for now, until they figure out how to disallow it.

There are many health cost sharing ministries that “count” as insurance under 0care.

For now.

The ObamaCare Tax is a “direct” tax on the individual.

The Constitution states that “direct taxes shall be apportioned...”

The ObamaCare Tax is NOT apportioned.

The ObamaCare Tax is NOT constitutional.

You are not required to comply with laws that are NOT constitutional.

I think they can only opt out of the Medicaid expansion provision of the bill.

The waivers granted, I think, were only temporary. (for some companies)
