This could be for naught with the lawsuits about pro players getting their bells rung over the years.

The PC crowd may well force the end of football as we know it.

Sorry but I see this as exploiting the student-athletes time and bodies for more money and not for betterment of students, colleges or traditional bowls.

Yeah, now the SEC can get four of their teams in there instead of 2 every year.

I will believe the corruption has been taken out when there are NO SEC teams in the playoff.

The BCS grew to four bowl games plus the National Championship Game consisting of six conference champions and four wild cards. The new system will consist of six bowl games consisting of four selected semi-finalists and a spot for at least five conference champions.

Less has changed than what meets the eye. But at least there will be a true playoff.

A four team playoff? What?

Will bowl games continue?

Should be a 16 yeam playoff. 11 conference champs, 5 at large. The SEC can still get 3 in and CUSA and MWC etc with 1- 2 losses has a shot

I don’t think this really “fixes” anything at all. Now, instead of having endless debates about one or both teams facing off in the BCS title game, we’ll have endless debates about whether a #5 or #6 team should have been ranked #4 and included in the “national semifinals.”

So, Bigtime college football joins bigtime college basketball in the gambling lobby's whorehouse. Anyone want to bet on how long it will be before this "final four" grows into a "sweet sixteen?"

The money-driven degenerates will have us suffering through college football until February by the end of the decade. What a f*ing obscenity.

This is great! Now we’ll get to see 3 more SEC games on TV each year!

I can see it now.. Coming to a sports page/sport stalker near any large college town.

“this system is bogus because it totally leaves us out man.. it sucks because it makes the regular season useless man... it favors the teams from the east coast.. it favors team that have a history of giving money to the NCAA.. It’s all a conspiracy for ratings man.. It’s all about the money..”

If anyone in their right mind thinks this will even begin to solve the bitching and moaning, they’re in for a surprise.

The problem with a college playoff system has always been, "What about the bowls?"

So, one game on New Year's Eve and the other on New Year's Day will suck viewers away from all the other bowl games with the two winners meeting a week later.

Want more teams in an extended playoff?

All the other bowls better get with the program and become a part of the playoff picture or they can only count on the eyeballs-on-the-TV and butts-in-the-seats of their participants fans.

Guaranteed 16 teams before 2020 and a lot of the lesser bowls going the way of the Dodo.
