Maybe I'm dense, but I thought water seeks its own level everywhere!

How can it rise more in one place than another?

Maybe the Eastern coast is sinking?

So sea level for the Atlantic Ocean is rising faster in North America than it is in South America, Europe and Africa?

How does that work?

Seems to me that someone is unclear on the meaning of ‘sea level’.

Only last Friday we saw this: California to see higher than average sea level rise, report says.

Someone are not coordinating their alarmist reports.

This just strikes me as being utterly impossible. Except for the impact of gravitational tide levels and winds, I would think that sea level balances out across the world and no particular area would experience a noticable rise in sea level without it occurring worldwide.

I think that I recently heard that the moon was closer to the earth than it has been or will be in decades - maybe even in hundreds of years.
Would this effect the ‘rise of the tides’? I wonder if this was taken into account.

Trying to catch up with California where they declared it was rising fastest the other day.

The sea level cannot rise more quickly along the eastern North American coast than along the western European coast. Well, unless the Earth really is flat....

This is a really dumb story. Water (any fluid) seeks it's own ambient level state based on it's container, Only tides cause a shift east to west.

The true root cause is more likely beach erosion on the east coast.

Another possibility is a difference in measuring metrics. Remember NASA's monumental Mars probe blunder confusing feet and meters in descent rate?

Sometimes I think this country would be better off if we could just saw off the Eastern Seaboard and let it float out to sea.

Funny, but the sea seems to be rising fastest where Obama is.

This new news would appear to be in total disagreement with glowbull warming adherents are saying...

with zer0, we should have upon us the moment the rise of the oceans began to swell. This would lay serious scientific FACT and CREDENCE to sea levels lowering on the east coast, while they rise elsewhere in the world, parts of the world not as fortunate to live under the reign of zer0...

Only reminds me of the story Chicken Little ......... regardless of truth or common sense there are always enough idiots around to buy up the hard hats.

Maybe we should be selling hard hats ?

Uh...I’m no big bang genius or scientist....but.....ocean levels rise at the same level EVERYWHERE, IF they rise at all. That is, of course, unless due to hurricanes or storm surges.

It’s much more likely that the east coast, or portions of it, are slowly sinking.....just as is the case along the Gulf Coast...

http://www.publicaffairs.noaa.gov/releases2003/apr03/noaa03r248.html

Gotta love how the chicken little global warming enviro wackos try to spread this BS as fact....lol. Also gotta love how they blame global warming for warmer ocean temps at the poles, when underwater volcanic activity is the cause.

Here’s something I think folks are missing.

I agree that water will find it’s own level, but here’s another aspect of this that the Gorebal Worming nuts are missing.

If water rises in one area, it must therefore sink in another.

Where is it sinking Lefties? (There isn’t more water all of a sudden)
