I’m even less optimistic about AZ.
Maybe I’m just in a Monday mood...? 8-/

I fear you may well be proven right about that. No doubt that the Regime has contingency plans (executive orders, agency regs, etc.) already in place for just this eventuality. They will try to spin a defeat at the hands of a “conservative” USSC into a reason for forging ahead and a rationale for bypassing normal checks and balances.

I remember other cases the Court "would certainly" overturn. Campaign finance and Kelo come to mind.
And don't forget Kennedy's first betrayal of the Constitution in "Webster v. Reproductive Health Services". That was his first sign of "growing in office".

Thanks, now does anyone remember if this is the House or Senate version of the bill?

There is a loud and huge thunderstorm overhead, now a minute prior to SCOTUS. Reminds me of John Adams speech to the Continental Congress during the thunderstorm preceding the vote for independence...

The person on Scotus Blog just posted " by inference we learn CJ Roberts is writing health care."
Does that mean anything? If Roberts is writing the majority decision it would seem to be good sign? Am I even reading what they are saying correctly?

“...the general consensus seems to be that the court will kick the decision to Thursday, which is the final day they are in session,...”
I wonder what purpose could be served by that - unless of course, there’s some negotiating over the majority opinion.
In other words, they’re trying to get Justice Kennedy to join in on the majority opinion and he won’t.

Not necessarily related. The EU is crashing and burning, and Germany told the freeloaders to get their acts together.

I thought “automatically” wasn’t quite right so I put it in quotes.
Separate from “normal” IRS levy procedures, I believe Obamacare, by itself, provides for debiting peoples accounts that have not provided proof of “approved” health insurance coverage - the fine/tax/fee question we hope will be moot shortly. ;-)

Roberts writing it would be a GR8 sign; however, the SCOTUSblog post you refer to was one person’s prediction, and no statement of fact...

Only if he’s in the majority though. If he’s a dissenter, the most senior justice assigns I believe.
