The White House said a former National Security staffer who communicated with ATF's Special Agent in charge of "Fast and Furious" cannot be interviewed by Congressional investigators.
The ATF Special Agent, Bill Newell, testified to Congress in July 2011 that he's a longtime friend with then-White House National Security Staffer Kevin O'Reilly. The two emailed and talked on the phone during the controversial Fast and Furious gunwalking operation, according to documents and Newell's testimony to Congress.
In one email exchange about Fast and Furious on Feb. 11, 2011 O'Reilly asked Newell, "Would ATF be willing to put you or others in front of US media that gets pickup in Mexico (CNN en Espanol, perhaps) to tell this story?"
At the time, the Justice Department and ATF were denying any gunwalking had occurred, and were looking for ways to promote stories about gun traffickers buying weapons in the U.S. and taking them to Mexico.
"Kevin as we discussed last night," answered Newell, "these are some examples of what we could get translated and use in the Mexican media . . . The 'Fast and Furious' indictment is listed under 'U.S. v Avila.'"
The two also emailed about the case in July 2010, exchanging anecdotes and photographs of gun seizures in the case.

Pursue them to the ends of the earth, this is beyond contemptible.
next it’ll be the cleaners and janitor banned from talking.
This is making Watergate look like a walk in the park. No Woodward and Bernstein on this one, though. Are there a couple of conservative Woodward and Bernsteins out there?
If he’s an ex-staffer, I don’t think the White House can protect him.

Arm the drug cartels, destabilize the Mexican government and disarm Americas. What ambitions that fit in so well with the Obama agenda. Hugo will be proud.
They’ll do what Clinton did and tie-up everyone that ever spoke or wrote to anyone related to the WH into legal pretzels and it’ll take a generation to get even the menus..
But I been sayin' for months now, this investigation is in good hands. Issa won't quit, and he won't cave. You watch. Issa will gnaw on these crooked rat-bastards like a big dog with a meaty bone.

Just in case the connection between the cartels and Marxist governments in the Americas isn’t clear.
I mean Obama will have to play this out during the campaign and this is going to make him look dirtier than hell, its a major and complete distraction to his whole re-election, it could well derail it.
Only if the press covers it.
CBS is behind on the story...

The Obama administration is stonewalling two lawmakers requests to interview a former member of the National Security staff in connection with the failed Operation Fast and Furious gun-walking program, according to a March 28 letter obtained by The Daily Caller.
California Rep. Darrell Issa and Iowa Sen. Chuck Grassley, both Republicans, requested a response by April 4 to their letter, which asks for an interview with Kevin OReilly, that former staffer. But the White House, according to the letter, is blocking access to him.
Through staff, both Grassley and Issa confirmed to TheDC on Thursday that April 4 came and went without any response from the Obama administration.
In their letter to White House Counsel Karen Ruemmler, Grassley and Issa cited a cryptic email exchange between OReilly and William Newell, the special agent in charge of the Phoenix office of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives at the time Fast and Furious was implemented. The emails, their letter suggests, indicate that Newell was going around his chain of command to personally brief the White House about developments in the gun-walking program.
You didnt get this from me, Newell wrote to OReilly in a Sept. 3, 2010 email about Fast and Furious, according to the letter from Issa and Grassley.
Just dont want ATF HQ to find out, Newell wrote in am earlier email, especially since this is what they should be doing (briefing you!). (RELATED: Full coverage of Operation Fast and Furious)
The House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, which Issa chairs, has not yet made complete copies of those emails available to reporters.
When are Hillary’s “friends” going to start doing the dirty work of taking them for “a walk in the park”?
He knew everything from the beginning.
It was his baby.
He conceived it and Holder and his underlings executed it.
THAT is why they are so damn ready to claim EP.
It would mean resignation AND criminal prosecution, unless BITEme PARDONED HIM!................
The only “truth” that makes any sense is:
Obozo knew all and from the very beginning. It was HIS PLAN!
Fry the Lying Commie Bastard in his own slime.
i think the opposite, Hillary would be marching Obama’s lot up to congress herself if she could, she would love to see him go down in flames.
Clinton bribed some witnesses into silence, others like Monica were bribed to lie under oath.
Still others were threatened with violence and vandalism (dead cats, tires slashed, remarks about what the witness’ kids were seen wearing that day...).
