This is not true. Speaker Boehner’s spokesman Michael Steel confirmed it for me once again.
“The Speaker supports Chairman Issa’s efforts to hold the Department of Justice accountable,” Mr. Steel wrote in an email.
Over and over the media has used anonymous sources for this story instead of actually confirming anything with Speaker Boehner’s office.
Many times Speaker Boehner has professed his support for Chairman Issa. On May 10 he said all options

The Boehner needs to PUBLICALLY STAND UP and say so!!!!!!!
To Boner- it is too late to primary your lame ass this time. However, in 2014 your ass is grass. My tea party group has been meeting weekly since 2009 and after Wisconsin, you’re next up as is Bitch McConnell. You can hem, you can haw, you can weep, you can tan, you can golf, you can cry again but you are over!
I believe he just did. And it isn't the first time he's voiced support.
But the media intentionally muffles any aggressive statements by Boehner and fosters the impression that he isn't supportive of Issa's efforts for the express purpose of sewing discord among conservatives.
They pull stunts like this constantly.
And, for a very good reason, we fall for them every time.
How can he have a “stance” when all he does is sit on the pot?
BS ....... Boner isn’t heard because he does not want to be heard! PERIOD!
Do not defend this ass covering prick. He pinches himself every day when he realizes the power and perks he has. He does not want to lose them. He is a go along to get along type that just wants to stay in DCwith the perks even if in the minority.
Every statement I have heard from the Speaker's office is that he is supportive of Issa.
Yet Freepers continually believe "anonymous sources" because they love to hate Boehner.
Nobody wants to destroy Boehner more than Freepers. I see way more hate here toward him than the leftist sites.
It is Boner’s job to get out in front of these stories and FIGHT.
We here at at FR spend ten times more here online defending these elites then they do for themselves. They like to stick their finger into the wind then tell us what they think.
Screw that. Those days are OVER. No more pale pastels! GET IT?

I agree. Too bad we have to spend so much time correcting the media.
Why? Given that...
1. Issa, in my opinion, is doing a helluva job guiding the F&F Scandal. He's gained the momentum and he's keeping the pressure on. Plus, he's getting results. Even the media has been forced to pay attention.
2. Aside from being supportive of Issa's efforts, Boehner, presumably, has other things to do. Even if the media insists on misconstruing and misreporting his utterances...
Thanks smoothsailing.
” Boehners spokesman Michael Steel “
The same pos mikey steel that was so pathetic as GOP chairman?
If boehner is palling with steele then that says a lot as to why boehner seems like such a pathetic weenie
I don’t care if his spokesman says it or he publicly stands up and says it. That’s not how DC works, and if he’s reported to be squashing things behind the scenes—why else would Holder have gotten away with it all for so long?—it’s likely that’s exactly what’s happening.
I am shocked that NBC/MSMBC calls itself news reporters. They have done nothing but make sh!t up, report it as news, and then never change what they are doing.
They pull stunts like this constantly.”
I remember seeing the same thing during the government shutdown showdown with Newt and Clinton.
I remember thinking “why don't the Republicans make their case. It is clear that the person at fault here is Clinton!”
Then I saw a speech by Newt on C-Span. It was wonderful. If most of America had heard it, Clinton would have been toast.
The MSM simply refused to air the Republican arguments.
It was during that time that I determined that our primary problem was not the politicians, it was the MSM.
Boehner seems completely unable to understand that there is a vast media network out there consisting of blogs, conservative websites and places like FR, the readership of which likely dwarfs the Old Networks completely. Yet, in knee-jerk fashion, he only goes to them to make statements or issue speeches.
In this, as in so many things, he is a dissappointment. He has been timid, frightened and unwilling to confront the rats on even the most basic elements of the conservative agenda. All of the energy from the ‘10 elections, which put him in the Speakers Chair, has been dissapated by his fumbling and inaction.
He can at least treat the MSM as they treat him: Make them go to the ‘net for their quotes. Give press conferences to allies, not enemies. Release statements to the blogosphere. Give interviews with the blogosphere, and keep them in communication at all times.
These simple things would change a lot in DC.
MEDIA MISREPORTING 90% of the time filter the other 10%.
