Female submariners are fitting right in.
Since reporting to their boats in November, 25 women who broke one of the Navy's final gender barriers have gone on patrol and been accepted among their crews.
"The men adjusted to us being there, and we adjusted to them," said Lt. j.g. Megan Bittner of the USS Ohio gold crew. "It was quick. There were no big problems. No stumbling blocks along the way. It was just learning as a junior officer how you fit on the boat."

“We sunk a truck!”
That’s gross.
Men, men, men,
We're a ship all full of men,
So throw your condoms over board there's nothing here but men!
There was a rather extensive thread over the past several days about women getting into Ranger School. My final take on it was this:
In 5 years after women join the Rangers/SEALS/Delta/(I add in Subs here) you will hear talking heads in and out of the military who will say things like:
NEWS ANCHOR/POLITICIAN/MILITARY COMMANDER: When we integrated women and homosexuals into these units, people were saying it was going to be a disaster, that it would hurt mission capability, morale and such. We are more capable now than we have ever been, and have the moral buttress of diversity and equality. Remember how they said the same thing about the military when blacks were going to be integrated back in 1946? Same result here...the world didnt end, and it wont. It was the right thing to do, and we can all be proud of the diversity we now see.
I HATE it when I am right, and this quickly, too.
In the sewer pipe service, there’s nothing that can’t be accomplished with an appropriate CNO order and a few cases of FDS.
[What would the guys say off the record?]
Something, something, filled with seamen.
Female submariners = Sperm whales.
I doubt seriously we'll be hearing about the tragedy's this will cause and the cost regarding military readiness.
Flying fighter planes is one thing, even being a part of crews in larger aircraft but when it comes to subs, ground pounders, Rangers/SEALS/Delta it's a whole different story.
“how you fit on the boat”
She put her finger on the key issue.
Women on a sub.
