Every political strategist working the fall elections sees a game changer coming by the end of the month.
Thats when the Supreme Court rules on the constitutionality of President Obamas signature legislative accomplishment, the Affordable Care Act.
The Democrats have a nuclear option in this political game if the high court throws out the healthcare law as unconstitutional.
That blowup-the-system button, not pushed since FDRs attempt to stack the court with Democrats during the New Deal, is for Obama to use the bully pulpit of the White House, and the national stage of a presidential campaign, to launch a bitter attack on the current court as a corrupt tool of the Republican right wing.
It is a move that could energize Democrats and independents even as Republicans celebrate a major legal victory.
Some Democrats, sensing a political windfall, cant wait to start the offensive.

Not like any of the Supremes really care what an online ezine is saying about them anyway.
The voters have NO confidence in the integrity of the SC, and haven’t since the 60s.
Ruling Obamacare unconstitutional would do a lot to begin the healing.
Why wouldn’t it “erode trust” in the tyranical regime that passed the bill without knowing or revealing what was in it?
The GOP better get off of their dead butt’s and have a plan for making this case loud and clear!
The voters don’t have a lot of confidence in the ‘rule of law’ period, since the current administration seems to have no regard for it. The trampling of the Constitution, blatant disregard for immigration laws, and the outright criminal activity is really appalling. The system of checks and balances has completely failed.
“...can anyone believe that the Democrats’ imposition of the so-called “health care” bill is consistent with the “spirit” of individual liberty...?”
Way to preach to the choir. I’m curious, do you convert many democrats over?
Nothing directed at you, but I think a lot of people (me included) here like to preach-post to people who already mostly agree with them. It makes the poster feel good, which is fine, but does almost nothing to bring in new conservative voters or convert less conservative, established voters over.
Remember, when we post here, we are simply posting to an echo chamber.
I absolutely agree with your assessment.
No joke. Obama can't take the credit for starting it. I give that to FDR, although perhaps it started earlier. But he sure is trying to put the final touches to it.
You may be correct in your description that we are preaching to "the choir." My own reading of the thoughtful posts and contributions of others over a number of years, however, has been a learning experience and a sharing of information which helps to equip each and all of us who want to preserve the ideas of liberty as we engage in the great battle of ideas.
While there may seem to be an "echo chamber" at times, posters display a great diversity of opinion and analysis that is healthy.
In addition to that, there are "lurkers" whose views have been formed by their schools or previous experience--views which are diametrically opposed to those of most Freepers. Perhaps they, upon reading such concise founding-era quotations about our Constitution, about life, liberty, rights, and laws to protect them, may be curious enough decide to compare those words with the dogma and propaganda of their professors and Party leaders.
"Sharing" information about sources for the underpinning ideas of our nation's Declaration of Independence and Constitution with others who may be able to use that information in their own responses to the Left's challenges seems to help to multiply the efforts of all of us, especially some who are "opinion makers" in their communities and state or national connections.
Bring it on! The majority of the people want it thrown out, so I hope the Dems go on the attack!
Dear Juan,
Here is my answer to you, it is a bit out dated, but the sentiment remains:
***************
When this health care for all crap passes, right now the legislation states that it will be illegal to sell private policies over the date of passage. It also says that HSAs will no longer be allowed. That means that my current policy will no longer be allowed and neither I nor my employer will be allowed to privately purchase an alternative.
I will not accept the public option that I will be dictated to join. I will not give the government control over my physical body. I will not pay their fines, I will not surrender to the impending warrant for my arrest. When they knock on my door, I will not answer. When they kick it in, I will make the news.
Hows that for unification, libtards? You loons are currently legislating my death. I will chose the terms and I will bring as many of you along as possible!
*********************************************
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security
SCOTUS will overturn this just to ream it up Obama’s nose : )
Thanks pabianice.
“Erode voters’ trust in the Supreme Court...”
Which voters? The ones who want to inflict their costs on everyone else or the ones who feel that some sane individual should at least be held partially responsible for risks taken?
I think the court did that long ago in Roe v. Wade.
