Defeat of healthcare law would erode voters’ trust in Supreme Court (LibSpin)
The Hill ^ | 6/18/12 | Williams

Every political strategist working the fall elections sees a game changer coming by the end of the month.

That’s when the Supreme Court rules on the constitutionality of President Obama’s signature legislative accomplishment, the Affordable Care Act.

The Democrats have a nuclear option in this political game if the high court throws out the healthcare law as unconstitutional.

That blowup-the-system button, not pushed since FDR’s attempt to stack the court with Democrats during the New Deal, is for Obama to use the bully pulpit of the White House, and the national stage of a presidential campaign, to launch a bitter attack on the current court as a corrupt tool of the Republican right wing.

It is a move that could energize Democrats and independents even as Republicans celebrate a major legal victory.

Some Democrats, sensing a political windfall, can’t wait to start the offensive.

Wouldn’t surprise me. He’ll burn the house down if he doesn’t win.

Figures they would have it exactly bass ackwards.

If they don't rule it unconstitutional, there is no reason to trust them.

Williams is clearly mentally challenged. Uber-Liberals Ginsberg and Kagan rule, that’s admirable judicial temperment. Thomas or Scalia rule, that’s insane political activism. How far we’ve fallen after 45 years of diseased Liberal mis-education.

This isn’t even debatable. It’s unconstitutional. Any ruling to the contrary will be a travesty and more proof that the SC is becoming overly political.

No, it won’t.

However, if they uphold this communist crap, I will never consider, obey or respect anything else they or the rest of the US federal communists do again.

I dare say that if it is not held unconstitutional, that the Republic is no more in fact, not just in words. And as such, I would say that any and all means necessary to protect ourselves is warranted.

Democrats soil institutions.

Left out of Guano Williams’ column were the filthy, corrupt practices utilized by Hussein, Dingy Harry, and Nazi Pelosi. No hearings, written in secret, never read by members, shady parliamentary subterfuges, opposed then as now by a significant majority of Americans, dozens of bribes and special cutouts. Oh, and Obamacare does not apply to Congress or senior pols. Yes, there are two Americas.

This headline, and Williams' confidence that he would not be ridiculed for even suggesting such an outrageous idea, indicates the degree to which the so-called "progressives" believe they have dumbed down American citizens regarding their Constitution's protections for their individual rights.

Thomas Jefferson, America's third President:

"On every question of construction [of the Constitution] let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or intended against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." - -Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, 12 June 1823

Given Jefferson's declaration concerning the method of approaching constitutional interpretation, and given all we can glean from explanations by Madison, Jay and Hamilton in the 85 essays of THE FEDERALIST, as well as the writings and speeches of those who debated and ratified the Constitution, can anyone believe that the Democrats' imposition of the so-called "health care" bill is consistent with the "spirit" of individual liberty of the Framers of our Constitution?

"Agriculture, manufactures, commerce, and navigation, the four pillars of our prosperity, are the most thriving when left most free to individual enterprise." - Thomas Jefferson

"The enviable condition of the people of the United States is often too much ascribed to the physical advantages of their soil & climate .... But a just estimate of the happiness of our country will never overlook what belongs to the fertile activity of a free people and the benign influence of a responsible government." - James Madison

These, and all the other writings and speeches of the founding period, as well as the vast explosion of freedom, opportunity, innovation, productivity, and liberty for oppressed people from all over the world under the influence of "a free people and the benign influence of" a limited and "chained" government power, should indicate to all of us today that a Supreme Court who, individually, have studied the principles of the document they are using as a measuring tool for this massive power grab commonly called "obamacare," will in no wise believe that a single Framer of the Constitution would affirm its legitimacy.

Considering that Obie and the congress have record low approval ratings I don’t think the Supremes are the problem. But don’t try to point that out to a liberal - they’re impervious to the obvious.

Ha! During the last national election, I worked at a survey center. NO ‘self-identified Democrat’ that I surveyed knew what a ‘supreme court justice’ WAS or could name one. Neither could they say what these individuals DID once you gave them the names!!

Believe me... Liberal voters are dumb as dirt and twice as common!

As 70% or so of the US population dislikes this rammed down our throats legislation, I would guess that overturning it would INCREASE respect for the Supreme Court.

Where do they get this kinda junk spin??????

The Demos are accustomed to the SCOTUS giving a rubber stamp approval to all things leftist. They will go nutz when SCOTUS denies them a "right"

Dems on MSNBC have been routinely showing polls that indicate that Americans think the SCOTUS is now acting politically as proof of the above claim. Of course Obama is the first POTUS to publically ‘declare war’ on the SCOTUS, cheered on by the same team above. Undermining their authority was his whole purpose.

Back before Alito and Roberts were on the court when O Conner was siding 5-4 with Dem SCOTUS appointees on great decisions like : making homo-sodomy a US constitutional privacy right, the liberal/MSM dogma was that ANY criticism of the court undermines the ‘rule of law’.

Now that the SCOTUS no longer does their bidding their new dogma is : “Overturning any law that we supported undermines the ‘rule of law’.

Hypocrisy??? Sure but libs write the rules of ‘fairness’ and Republicans are not good at throwing their own words (doo-doo) back in their faces, unlike me.

How did that work for them in Wisconsin? Most people think Obama's monster should be overturned. Throwing a mass tantrum isn't going to change that.

Had Obamadamadingdong and Nazi Pelosi not ram rodded this monster through congress, without even letting anyone read it and debate it...had they had the respect for the constiutional government not to buy off votes to pass it...had it been debated and examined like normal in the Congress and in the media...it would not be at the Supreme Court today.

The Democrats have gone a long way to wreck every institution of society with their hateful, disrespectful, corrupt, radical, unconstitutional ideology.
