Don't say you weren't warned that Romney won't be the next Reagan or if anything he will grant amnesty like Reagan. He's bush all over again.

Despite protestations to the contrary as to what Rubio actually said or meant, the media says he agreed with Obama. And now Mitt says I agree with Rubio (without explaining what he means or how he may disagree with The One (if he does). Big win for Bambi. Totally snookered our troops (again).

“We’re going to be able to get Hispanic voters,” Mr. Romney said at the private event, which was overheard by a reporter for the Wall Street Journal. “We’re going to overcome the issue of immigration.”

This is a non sequitor statement, Mr. Romney; not that you care about us US citizens out here, just saying.

He's bush all over again.

Yeah. And if we HAD any Reagan's running in the primary, they maybe would've for the good of the country fallen in behind the best conservative to beat Romney.

Instead we had a bunch of small minded jerks beating each other up and letting Romney win the cakewalk.

Well done, Barack Obama - he set a bear trap and Romney stepped right in. Correct response is a laser focus on an unconstitutional act by the president and enforcement of immigration laws currently on the books - anything less drops his (Romney) poll numbers to a manageable number for Obama et al.

I’ll eat my hat if this presumptive republican nominee doesn’t begin to drop in the polls tout sweet.

Snatching defeat from the jaws of victory - natch

I believe the status of young people who come here through no fault of their own is an important matter to be considered, and should be solved on a long term basis so they know what their future would be in this country, Romney said.

Who do these idiots think they serve? 1. The citizens of the United States and their interests? 2. The citizens of other nations and their interests? And pray tell, who represents us? Honestly, you have more rights if you're not a citizen.

Is this what Romney is agreeing with Rubio on?
Rubio's plan or at least one he is talking up with NBC to be broadcast on the "Sunday Morning" show.

Marco Rubio talks immigration, Dream Act, amnesty

snip
Of his proposal Rubio said, "I think I've found significant support for it, both in my own party and hopefully with some Democrats, that allows us to address the issue of these kids in a humanitarian way, that allows us to recognize that what we want to do is give these kids a chance to get right what their parents got wrong, but not do it in a way that incentivizes people to do this in the future, and doesn't undermine our legacy as a nation of laws."

"Will your plan give amnesty?" asked O'Donnell.

"No, it's not an amnesty plan," Rubio replied. "The plan basically would award the kids who meet a certain criteria - they got here by a certain age, have lived here, graduated from high school, don't have a criminal record, want to go to college - they get what, in essence, is a student visa, and thereafter, a work visa.

"And after some period of time, probably 10 years, we would then allow them to access the immigration system just like any non-immigrant visa holder in the United States would. ... So they'd be no worse off than anybody else, but no better off, either. No special path. Just the same path as everyone else."

end snip

The sad reality is that, on this issue, we had no primary candidates (with a chance to win) who took a solid stand against illegal aliens and amnesty in its various forms. Romney took the toughest stand of all, but it seems none are immune to the irresistible desire to pander for Latino votes.

Romney will damage his campaign at this early stage if he begins to back away from his campaign stances and resorts to pandering and vote buying, a game at which Republicans have no prayer against the Dims.

Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again...

-- Archie and Edith Bunker
Actually we could use a man like Calvin Coolidge in these perilous times:

American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government. New arrivals should be limited to our capacity to absorb them into the ranks of good citizenship. America must be kept American. For this purpose it is necessary to continue a policy of restricted immigration.

It would be well to make such immigration of a selective nature with some inspection at the source, and based either on a prior census or upon the record of naturalization. Either method would insure the admission of those with the largest capacity and best intention of becoming citizens… Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America.

"If I’m president, we’ll do our very best to have that kind of long-term solution that provides certainty and clarity for the people who come into this country through no fault of their own by virtue of an act of their parents." - Mitt Romney

VERY important part of his statement. You see the terminology & the tone he used? He agrees with the fundamentals of the Nightmare Act. That is identical to the rhetoric Obama uses. The primaries are over, conservatives. We are officially under the bus.

..... Wouldn't it be more logical for any person born in this country to a person of illegal status to be considered to be under the care of the natural born parents and subject to all current immigration law, including deportation.

Then upon their 21st (or 18th) birthday make a binding legal final choice by affidavit of which country they choose to be a citizen of..... Relinquishing all claims to their foreign citizenship, or if chosen.... relinquish their claim to American citizen status.

This is Checkmate for Rinos. Hatch , Rubio and others are now backed into a corner only to say, we support what the president has done but we are outraged by how he did it without the cover of congress. We will purge rinos with as much zest and zeal as we will the democrats and marxists. Hatch and others will pay for this in November.

Kim Jong Obama just usurped the power of Congress, we have Sen. Rubio et al. cheering the move, now the GOP presumtious nominee is giving his nod.

Has anybody realized the Nov election, no matter who ‘wins’, had been nullified?

Obama and Co. just ensured it will be dragged out in court, and possibly creating a Constitutional crisis. Someone(s) want to start a civil unrest real bad.

With Rubio and other moderates on our side, how can we not "win"? I am totally pissed.
