George Zimmerman's public image took a blow when a judge revoked his bond, alleging that Zimmerman willfully misled the court concerning his financial situation. The fact that he's back in jail makes him appear guilty in the public's eye, and that's what matters. Whether or not Zimmerman misled the court is immaterial. In fact, his guilt or innocence is immaterial. His trial has transcended justice; it's now about capitalizing on opportunity.
Zimmerman has maintained since day one that Trayvon Martin instigated their fatal confrontation. Zimmerman's various injuries coupled with autopsy results revealing Martin's injured knuckles tend to support his story. That evidence might be the reason why he wasn't charged immediately after the shooting. Yet he remains guilty until proven innocent in the eyes of many, including the federal government and national media.
Could there be an orchestrated campaign between government and media entities to see this man imprisoned, or even executed? Despite the physical evidence of which we're aware, an apparent lack of credible witnesses on either side of the case, and expert legal opinion belittling Florida's case against Zimmerman, the FBI has launched a hate crime investigation against him. And it could stick.
We might logically believe that the Fifth Amendment's protection against double jeopardy would compel the Justice Department to abandon the case if Zimmerman is acquitted. Not necessarily. According to Cleveland State Professor Jonathan Witmer-Rich, Supreme Court precedent has established a narrow threshold for claiming double jeopardy. "The double jeopardy clause would not prohibit a federal prosecution of Mr. Zimmerman, even if he were acquitted in Florida state court," Prof. Rich states, although he believes that the likelihood of federal prosecution following a state acquittal is small. However, FBI involvement means Department of Justice involvement, which in turn means Eric Holder involvement.

It's usefulness to the Left ends on November 6th.
Shortly thereafter, Angela Corey will quietly withdraw it, and state-controlled media won't make a peep.
This whole brouhaha over the bail seems to be tied to his advocates’ legal online fundraising. Zimmerman apparently told the judge honestly enough that he had no idea if the fundraising would allow itself to be used for bail. And the judge treated it as though it wouldn’t, but has changed his mind now. Anyhow, Zimmerman might be let out again on a larger bail, but it would probably scarcely garner a comment deep in the newspaper and most people will never hear.

Are you saying that Zimmerman will be freed and there will be no riots at all?
I am an attorney. His attorney is a dumb ass. On day one I would have said “My client, Jorge Zimmerman, ....” I would even have filed a motion to get kosher food so my client can get in touch with his Jewish heritage during these trying times. He would be home plaing X Box the next day. And no, I am not a criminal lawyer but I would have made an exception.
The term trayvoned up to now has been coming up on the internet as the self defensive killing of a thug. I expect in the future it will refer to the misguided persecution of an innocent person who acts in self defense.
Yes.
I repeat; after the election, the drug dealer Trayvon Martin will be of no further use to the Democrats.
They can't afford a trial with actual evidence, because their narrative will implode on the first day.
If Zimmerman was black and the gang banger was hispanic/white/asian, then charges would never have been filed.
The only possibility of Corey presenting any kind of case is a destitute Zimmerman.
These thumbs upon the scales of justice stink, and in a sane land would be prosecuted themselves.
Did he even read the autopsy report? I did.
How about, A single and recent "1/4" abrasion on left fourth finger."
I see nothing in the report of any "injured knuckles" under 'Evidence of Injury' to support this comment/slant at all.
Cher?
Sorry, Who’s the woman??
It’s a rock and a hard place. By staying in the jail and not needing bail, Zimmerman would open up more resources to his attorneys. But it stinks.
Hey, if 0bama can change his religion from day to day why can’t Zimmerman?
E Pluribus..I hope you are right.
True that the Zimmerman case will be of little use after the election...however, the damage is pretty much done to the GOP Governor and AG
I live in Seminole County...the most GOP county in Florida...and people here are livid that we have to pay for a trial and lockup that our local St Atty accurately decided not to prosecute
Scott and Bondi are primary toast
If this prosecutor tries to deny Zimmerman his own private funds for defense...that will mean we as local taxpayers end up paying for it. We already are paying for increased security and various incidentals that we would have not been paying if we just listened to the local St Atty
Perhaps they should have done the right thing instead of the political thing.
