Now isn't this a surprise? The CEO of one of the largest grid operators in the nation states the obvious: the grid can't handle the increase in electric demand resulting from unlimited plug-in EV expansion. And this assumes a "smart grid" which we don't have. (Not that we'll have to worry about 25 million EVs anytime soon...)
What he didn't say is that WITHOUT a smart grid, the number of plug-in EVs that could be handled is dramatically less. Rio Linda isn't in the PJM grid but this means "there ain't no free energy".
But notice how this sets the stage for time-of-day utility delivery pricing. Stay tuned and hold onto your wallet...

Not solar.

Virtually any EE past freshman circuits knew this.
Of course, they also knew that this was far, far beyond the limited intellectual capabilites of the EPA, the press, and of course, our Cretin-in-Chief.

At the rate EV’s are selling, they won’t overload the system until about July 21, 2998.

could accommodate 25 million EVs
that would be a big loss in gasoline taxes and everything connected with it

>>>”Todd Campbell, VP of public policy and regulatory affairs for Clean Energy Fuels, “urged the commission to not allow regulated utilities to compete with private suppliers by charging their ratepayers for the cost of refueling stations,” the Inquirer wrote.”<<<
This is an important point the CLNE guy makes. CLNE and its partners are footing the bill for Nat Gas refueling stations which are in direct competition with electric fueling sources.

From the 69,456,897 idiots that voted for him in 2008.

The way coal plants are going thanks to the hostility of this Administration, it ain’t gonna be EVs that do it.

What moron believes 25 million EVs will hit the road at the same time?

Pick up any newspaper, take note of the multiple daily nominees for the Darwin Award, and then tell me the authorities have any prayer of synchronizing all EV recharging between midnight and 7AM.

Nothing surprising here.
There is NO ENERGY POLICY and/or PLAN for America.
America is NOW, nothing more than, "a Fifth Avenue operation with a shooting gallery setup."
I think you know what comes next.
