(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said the Supreme Court will uphold the constitutionality of President Barack Obama’s health care law, predicting a 6-3 decision because, as she remarked, “I know the Constitution.”
At a Capitol Hill press conference on Thursday, a reporter asked Pelosi, “Madame Leader, the Supreme Court is getting ready to rule in the next month or so on the health care bill, and you’ve expressed pretty high confidence – I think you said 6-3 – but I’m just wondering if Democrats and the Democratic leadership have had any discussions or meetings to plan for any sort of contingency plan given the possibility that the court could strike provisions from the law or the whole law, I’m wondering if Democrats are having any meetings to discuss contingency plans?”
Pelosi, in reference to how the nine-judge court will rule, said, “6-3. That’s it. 6-3.”
She was then asked why she was so confident about her prediction.
“Because I know the Constitution,” Pelosi said. “This bill is ironclad. It is ironclad.”
“Nobody was frivolous with the Constitution and the health of the American people in writing the bill,” she said. “So, that’s where my confidence springs from, the merit of the bill and the nature of the Constitution.”
“The makeup of the court, well, we’ll see,” Pelosi said.

The woman apparently believes that what she says--whatever she says--immediately replaces any reality with which she disagrees.
There is probably a name for this particular delusion, but I am not aware of it.

Dems work to get Obamacare implemented without funding.
Then they, and the fully complicit press hammer Republicans each and every day on how cruel and horrible they are not to fund it.
Then the Republicans cave.
And Socialized Medicine arrives in America.
I give this a period of about 7-10 years to play out, instead of almost immediately.

Great point. If you're keeping score at home folks, her prediction accuracy is trailing every individual in politics with the sole exception of Dick Morris.
Pelosi is a total waste of space.
What she better know is a good criminal attorney. It appears she is going to be up to her ears in the obama eligibility scam, along with many other high ranking socialist democrats, after sheriff joe gets through with them.
My fear also. We really do need a conservative revolution in America. It won't happen unless the people wake up. There's so much data. . We just have to keep hammering away and tell everyone we know and get active locally. It's come to this. . .
My other fear is all the stuff the czars and other dem operatives are doing that we never hear about. The mountain of regulations, pet projects, perks, squandering of taxpayer dollars, security leaks, "pay to play", various types and levels of corruption, selling defense secrets, anti-capitalist war on small business, anti-American energy policy, appeasement foreign policy, expanding EPA powers and abuse - you name it. It's all such a mess, it's going to take a top to bottom 'overhaul' at some date in the future - or we won't survive.

There are conservative adults in America. We need to work hard to get them into office - at all levels. They need our help, our energy. Make no mistake, we are at war with the enemy within. When you tire, think of The Founders.
I agree that there are many Reps who like portions of Obamacare and would like to amend rather than repeal the law. We have 2700 pages worth of changes to look at.
I recall the special part of the SCOTUS hearing that addressed whether the individual mandate was essential for the law and the government's position was that it was necessary. I also recall Scalia saying that it would be virtually impossible for them to review each part of the bill to see if it was constitutional or not.
In any event, I agree with you that SCOTUS will try to have it both ways, i.e., declare the individual mandate unconstitutional and not deal with the rest of the bill, which will then be de facto constitutional. This puts the ball right back into the political arena. Once there, I see a fight of delay and attack, but undoing Obamacare will prove very, very difficult as more and more of it is implemented.
Suppose they only strike the mandate and leave the rest standing. Wouldn’t that put the GOP in a bind? I’d think they’d be in a position of either funding the rest of Obamacare and all that entails, or letting federal health care go unfunded.

The loss of the individual mandate would certainly hurt the revenue stream. That wasn't supposed to go into effect until 2014 along with the employer penalties.
