I will not vote for a budget that increases America’s debt nor will I vote to increase the debt ceiling.

Biography
E.W. Jackson served three years and was honourably discharged from the United States Marine Corps. He then graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Phi Beta Kappa Key from the University of Massachusetts at Boston, and three years later graduated from Harvard Law School. While in law school, he was accepted into the Baptist ministry and studied at Harvard Divinity School.
He practiced law for 15 years in Boston, and later devoted his full time to ministry. His first book, “Ten Commandments to an Extraordinary Life” was published in 2008. His second book, “America the Beautiful – Reflections of a Patriot Descended from Slaves” is scheduled for release in 2012.
He is the Founder of Exodus Faith Ministries, a nondenominational Christian church in Chesapeake, Virginia and Boston, Massachusetts. On July 4, 2009, he launched S.T.A.N.D. – Staying True to America’s National Destiny (www.standamerica.us), a national organization dedicated to restoring America’s Judeo-Christian heritage and values.
Originally from Chester, Pennsylvania, Jackson and his wife Theodora were sent to Boston on orders from the United States Marine Corps in 1971. They came to Virginia by choice in 1998, motivated by the desire for an environment more compatible with their conservative Christian values. E.W. was also moved by the knowledge that Virginia is his ancestral home. His family’s history in Virginia dates back to the time of the Revolutionary War. His great grandparents (Gabriel and Eliza) were a sharecropper family in Orange County according to the 1880 census. His grandfather, Frank Jackson, moved to Richmond and to Pennsylvania where Jackson was born. “When my wife and I moved to Virginia, it was a spiritual homecoming,” says Jackson. He and his wife visit Orange County from time to time. Says Jackson, “Only in America could a descendant of slaves be a candidate for the United States Senate. If the people of Virginia allow me the privilege, I will go there to fight for our precious freedom, the freedom which made our country great.”
Among his accomplishments, Jackson led the historic Conservative Emergency Task Force (CETF) Summit in Washington DC on March 15, 2011 which brought together Congressional Representatives, Tea Party leaders, social and national security conservatives in unity to address what Jackson calls “the present national emergency”. He is one of the primary author of the Declaration of Freedom, a statement setting forth the unconstitutional actions of the federal government, signed by 56 prominent patriots (Council of 56) symbolic of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.
He hosts a weekly conference call to facilitate communication and cooperation among conservatives of various stripes, and is establishing similar efforts nationwide. He and his wife founded the annual Chesapeake MLK Leadership Breakfast which draws hundreds to celebrate the life and ideals of Dr. King. He is also the founder of “Youth With A Destiny”, to help youth avoid gangs, drugs and violence. He served as Chaplain for the Family Foundation of Virginia. He is a recipient of the Family Life Award from the African American family Association, the Republican Party Statewide Award for Outreach in 2010, and the “Excellence In Leadership Award” from Lead Hampton Roads in 2009. He is also a Board Member of the Chesapeake Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Jackson managed a gospel radio station for 10 years; hosted a local and nation radio talk show; practiced law for 15 years; and taught Administrative Law at North Eastern University in Boston and Business and Commercial Law at Strayer University in Virginia.
His articles have been published nationally and internationally. He has been a guest on FOX News’ Your World With Neil Cavuto and Megyn Kelly’s America Live, ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC’s Politically Incorrect, Hardball, C-Span’s Washington Journal, ABC Radio Network, National Public Radio, Virginia Public Radio in Richmond and Tony Macrini’s and Steve Batton’s morning radio shows in Hampton Roads and many other media outlets. His work has been reported by the Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, New York Times, Mother Jones Magazine, World Magazine and other publications.
In recognition of his national ministry leadership, he was consecrated a Bishop in 1998. He and his wife have been married for forty years, have 3 children and have resided in Chesapeake for 13 years.
I recently had the opportunity to hear E.W. Jackson speak and to talk to him after his speech at the VA 6th District Convention. (You have got to hear him!) He blew away the crowd with his speech and made George Allen's speech seem tepid at best.
Although he's essentially unknown at this point (VA GOP primary is June 12), I'm wondering if any Freepers are familiar with him and are supporting him? If not maybe we need to be getting the word out ASAP!
Can I get some Freeper help in verifying his conservative credentials? Anyone in Tidewater or elsewhere familiar with him?

I heard him at the Virginia Tea Party convention in 2010 and he blew me away. I *really* *really* like him.
He is really something else as a speaker and a great person. I met him at the PWCRC about 1 month ago where he spoke.
I forgot to mention that he has some Tea Party and other conservative endorsements.
I love it when he says he attended Harvard Law School, but didn’t drink the koolaid.
He spoke at our county convention and earned my primary vote.
Bishop Jackson is an intriguing candidate in the VA Senate race and has mightily impressed VA FReepers.
Unfortunately, in a competitive state like VA, with such expensive media markets, unless he can raise a huge amount of money and have the support of the party establishment, nominating Bishop Jackson could end up being a reprise of the Maurice Dawkins nomination from 1988, which would result in the execrable Tim Kaine being elected.
Too bad he’s from Chesapeake, he could have run for the House instead and possibly had a chance if he’s that impressive. He’s not even the most prominent of Allen’s primary opponents, that’s Bob Marshall. I don’t see how he doesn’t come in third.
My feelings on the matter would depend largely on the answer to the question in title of this thread. Being unknown a poll would show him down huge initially.
Obviously the grassroots in not in love with George Allen but Allen’s odds in November are no lower than 50%. I don’t think you can say that about Marshall or Jackson.
Heh. I've been depressed about politics most of this week, especially given the push to name Condi Rice as President and self-described "conservatives" who do the left's dirty work for them and say stuff like "Good to see President Obama embrace marriage equality" (you NEVER see self-described liberals repeat conservative talking points like "Drill, Baby, Drill!")... but, when things are observed from that perspective, I guess it's been a very good week overall for our guys.

I never heard of the guy until today, but after looking at his website, I came away quite impressed. He's new to the political stage but has an excellent resume, inspiring life story, and unapolgetically conservative values. He's also not making me nervous he might embarrass us in the future. Some the "true conservatives" the tea party backed, like Sharon Angle, Ken Buck, Dan Liljenquist, etc., have said things that make me cringe and given the RATS ammo. I've never been sold on George Allen's "comeback", so I'm definitely leaning in E.W. Jackson's direction now. There is a third GOP candidate, VA state legislator Bob Marshall (Jamie Radtke is running as well, but seems to have faded) Jackson seems to be the best of the bunch.
Eh, it's Virginia. RATs occasionally win U.S. Senate seats there but I think the state leans Republican and any of the 3 GOP candidates would have at least a 50% shot at winning in November. I think the only reason the Dems have two Senate seats now is the GOP dropped the ball. With George Allen, it largely depends on whether the 1994 version or 2006 version runs against the RAT. The 2006 version snatched defeat from the jaws of victory (his campaign team fiddled while Rome burned and laughed away poll after poll saying the race was tightening), and I sure hope he's learned his lesson. Unfortunately I haven't seen the old George back.
What did Walker win on Tuesday besides the meaningless primary?
I wouldn’t worry about Rice. While it is distressing anyone would think that’s a good idea it’s not gonna happen.
