This is a turning point for this campaign. Starting today with these rallies, we're entering a new stage -- and we don't intend to slow down until the last voter weighs in on November 6th.
(Note by Kristinn: The beginning of the 39-minute video of today's campaign rally featutes a weird and decidedly unpresidential backstage self-introduction by "Barack" as he calls himself. As he is introduced from onstage, backstage Obama speaks (reads a teleprompter) to a camera exhorting his supporters to work for his reelection. The pep talk is timed to end as the onstage introduction finishes. Obama ends by saying, "Let's go get'em. It's game time!," as he starts to strut his way into the arena and toward the stage.)
There seems to be differing estimates of the crowd which showed up. The stadium was maybe 50-75% filled, not an overflow crowd by any means, but still indicative of ardor not completely extinguished.
The Newser's crowd estimates are probably about as accurate as their push poll results at this stage. Here's a close-up of the enthusiastic audience in the upper deck. Doesn't look to me like the joint was 50-75 percent full. Not by a long shot.
When he walked out they played “City of Blinding Lights” by U2. Either they used the song to cover cheering or they needed something to make up for the lack of cheers.
Nope. Came from one of the social media sites, @BarackObama, and was supposedly a live shot by one of the Libtards in attendance.
That 50-75% figure was probably for the lower deck, with the emphasis on the low end. I would have to assume they filled the sections near the sage for good TV then let the crowd spread out.
The arena seats 20K, my best guess is that Obama got somewhere between 5-7.
It is hard to watch this man pander to the lowest denominators of society. I am embarrassed for America and for what he has done to degrade our highest office.
Ron Paul got 5-7 thousand at Cornell a couple weeks ago.
“Either way, this is an ominous sign for his re-elect chances”
I agree; I believe his late-night minstrel shows just reinforced a growing perception that Obama is in fact “not cool” to a lot of his prior supporters.
What a lovely, peaceful, inoffensive shade of aqua they’ve chosen for their signs, arena lighting, and Michelle’s dress. Same color as UN helmets. I feel so peaceful I’m slipping into a coma. Since they can’t win on issues, they’re trying the subliminal approach.
Barack Obama talking about Barack Obama
(Bob Dole talking about Bob Dole)
We’ve got another illeist
The only person the GOP could have picked who would lose to Obama is Romney. Just saying.
That is why the GOP ordained him. He is supposed to lose to obama. The Elite Republican Party members see obama’s re-election as away to kill the Conservative movement. They, likethe Democrat Party do not give a damn about the Country. They, again, like the Democrat Party are only interested in power and control.
They are all one.
I agree. Just different flavors of the same brand.
“I agree. Just different flavors of the same brand.”
EXACTLY!!!!!
