Check the little ‘to #XXX’ thingy at the bottom of a post, and just keep clicking on them until you find the one that explains your question.
It shouldn't take more than 30 sec., even in a long thread like this one.
“I approached our state GOP party about running”
Good luck with that!!! In my opinion, you can not expect the State powers that be to do much to help you at all until you are polling as the winner. In some cases, I think it is a “follower” instead of leader mentality -— they don’t want to be on a losing side no matter what.
This is especially true if you are challenging an incumbent (R). Before anyone steps in to correct me, I KNOW that the State party can’t take sides in a Primary election. But, it has been my experience that they could be quite a bit more helpful in day to day matters -— like updating their State Candidate site by posting the campaign website, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. without multiple emails, phone calls, and weeks delay.
In the various Candidate Schools I took at the Leadership Institute, American Majority, and the Republican Party of Texas to name a few, it appears that it may be more common for the State Party to recruit or approach the Candidate THEY want for the position rather than accepting and working with someone who actually decides to run on their own initiative.
If you have a fire in your belly to run and serve -— DO IT!!! Everyone says we need leaders and fighters in the Republican Party, but I think in some ways we actually scare them.
But we will NEVER WIN against the liberals, progressives, socialists, communists, Marxists, stateists, and their ilk unless we have a Patriot’s heart, a Warrior’s determination, and a willingness to leave it all on the battlefield for our Constitution and We the People.
Good luck in your race!!!
I will not vote for Obama or Romney.
/johnny
Bill 0'Reilly is famous for that kind of convoluted logic.
"Just because 0bama's policies are socialist doesn't mean he's a socialist." - Bill 0'Reilly
I totally agree. I think Jim misses a big point. Obama doesn’t own this country. Only God can decide who wins and who owns what. I am very willing to leave it up to Him. As long as our values are with His, we will do all right. And don’t forget the way God brough Paul of Tarsus around to His way of thinking. He can work with anyone who is willing to give himself to God. America is dedicated to God. We cannot give that up to the infidels.
Are you kidding? Mitt just delivered a lesson to those conservatives that he has no qualms about using his money to destroy them. Under a President Romney, the GOP-E would do the same to any Tea Party challenger of RINOs.
And Mourdock is running in an election year with a Dem president. Big difference.
I don’t think you should be sanctioned for being a Romney supporter, at least not during your temporal life here on earth.
link me please if you get a response
Thank you, Jim, for all you continue to do and for keeping this haven alive.
A wider electorate? Hippies and OWS protestors are that influential? Didnt know that.
They may not be "influential," but they do vote.
You think Paul is the best candidate we have? Please educate us on why you think that? Does his pro-dope and pro-prostitution values appeal to your liberal nature?
I explicitly stated that my candidate is and was Palin. I do believe that if we want to stop Romney, Paul is the best we've got at the moment.
I also know that the primary objection to Libertarianism is its basis in atheism. Since Dr. Paul is NOT an atheist, he is not a "true Libertarian," but holds with some of their views.
If being open-minded, willing to look at the facts myself and not be swayed by what "they" say, knowing that the Declaration and Constitution are grossly misunderstood today, then perhaps I am a "liberal." However, I've considered myself a Conservative since the early 1960's when I first attended a Christian Anti-Communist Crusade meeting to hear Dr. Fred Schwarz. I read and digested Chamber's Witness at the age of 14. Truly, I am a conservative.
You seem to be hung up on your misinformed ideas about the 10th amendment. Does that mean - like RoPaul (sic) - you support abortion as a states rights issue?
Like Ron Paul, I know that the 10th amendment states the powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. I fail to see how I am misinformed. I hate, loathe and abominate even the concept of abortion.
Are you a truther like Paul?
I do have questions about where BO was born, why his birth certificate and other documents are not available. If that makes me a "birther," then so be it.
Do you also hate the military and want queers to openly serve.
I love the military, and so does Ron Paul. I pray for homosexuals, that they may find peace with God. I do not believe they should serve in the military at all.
9/11 was an inside job, huh?
I do not believe 9/ll was an inside job. Did Ron Paul state that he did, unequivocally?
You like government pork? Paul sure does.
Please specify the projects Dr. Paul voted for and give his explanations for so doing. Ron Paul is undoubtedly the most fiscally conservative Congressman to serve for the last 20 years.
Let me guess... Youre a bigot too.
No, let me guess. Your use of such obvious attacks proves that you're an Alinskyite.
Look my liberal FRiend, I could go on and on all day knocking down the irrational reasons why you support Paul.
To repeat, I may be a liberal, but I'm not a socialist or communist or even a supporter of BO or Romney. I didn't know we were friends, do you treat all those you care about like this? What, precisely, have you "knocked down" -- all those straw men you've thrown up? I've not been irrational in anything I've written. Such a shame, I can't say the same about you.
But may I remind you that this is a conservative forum and for you to come here with you support for liberal trash is zot-worthy?
I've been coming to FR since 1998. My register date is April 11, 1999. I probably know more about the site than you do. And I really don't think Jim would zot me for expressing my honest views and asking rational questions. Why do you?
AMEN!
/johnny
...also those who were hiding behind another candidate in order to maintain their status on FR. When in fact they secretly were and are hoping for a Romney win.
Sure you have a choice, the same one I will be making - write in Chuck Norris or leave the POTUS/VPOTUS slot blank on your ballot.
There is no way in Hell, Heaven, or Earth that I will vote for either of the nominees. Except for complexion, I see no difference between them and the ideas that these people hold dear are anathema to me. I have no representation any more above the congressional level.
What shouldn’t happen again, why Jim Rob did the right thing here today,is we divide ourselves and thus marginalize ourselves. United we have strength, divided we’re reduced to background noise.

Dude - I have put my wallet where my mouth is. You can easily check on that.
I dislike attacks on people I consider friends and attacks on my personal integrity.
I don’t expect an apology - that won’t happen - but my posting history in both places is totally open. I don’t hide or change my name, though I am not disrespecting those who do.
Find ONE denigrating post about FR and I will bump in $50 to the current Thon.
Not changed names. It is the same person on the same account. The email is even the same. The posting format is the same. Sorry I can’t provide you with a graphology sample, but I use a keyboard.
You attacked a poster who I respect. I do not agree with him - his candidate sucks - but he always made his case clearly and honestly and stood by his guy no matter what.
The flag of FR, so I understand, is the don’t tread on me. That works both ways.
Stop trying to tell me what to think. Had enough of that crap in the army. I grew out of it.
(blushing) Thank you. I do pride myself on being amazing.
To repeat, I may be a liberal...
lolololol
There really is anything more to say, huh?
The change, getting back to the constitution, has to be done “consitutionally”. That is what I meant by that sentence.
I have no intention of “changing the constitution” I want the changes we must make to the current sorry state of affairs, which have strayed from the constitution, to be carried out constitutionally.
Hope that clarifies it for you.
Please enlighten me on this nonsense you are spinning. TBL comes up as tablespoon or the ticker symbol for Timberland when I google it so I don;t know what the hell you are talking about. EC and I have communicated on Santorum threads enough to know that he is a good guy. That is why I am stepping up for this dude. He isn't some sort of troll.
