ANN ARBOR, MI – In the middle of an event to extol the virtues of the U.S. Constitution and “American Laws For American Courts,” the audience learned first-hand how easy it is to lose their freedom of Speech and Assembly.

Amid shouts of “What about free speech?” from the audience, the Allegan Police Department ordered the event shut-down. School officials notified police that they had received a letter complaining about the event from Dawud Walid, Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI). The letter asked the school to disallow the event despite an existing contract.

I simply refuse to click through to personal blogs anymore. Between the pop up ads, viruses, trojans, malware, and other crap it’s not worth it.

Besides this author isn’t on the “must excerpt” list so it would be polite to post the entire thing here and let Freepers decide if this person’s blog is worth visiting.

“It’s amazing how much clout CAIR has with the political establishment of both parties in Lansing and throughout Michigan and the nation. This, despite the fact that CAIR has its roots in the Muslim Brotherhood, was listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial, and the FBI’s former chief of counterterrorism, noted that CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups.”

CAIR is a protected liberals victim group... Maybe heavy on donations to Democrats? Not that corruption has ever touched either of these pure as the driven snow organizations....

It also could be a way to ‘collect’ who’s a freeper... I don’t think that’s the case here - but I’m sure it’s happened.

I thought legal issues had resulted from printing entire articles without permission? Didn’t FR face a lawsuit and incur a judgement over this very issue?

I agree with your premise, and don’t like the constant redirects either. But I also owe the article’s publisher some courtesy, and I am subject to the laws in this regard.

I think they launder Saudi money into the Democrat Party.
Naturally, that would get them just about anything they want...

“Lucian also wrote a satire called The Passing of Peregrinus,[12] in which the lead character, Peregrinus Proteus, takes advantage of the generosity and gullibility of Christians.”

All too true! It's like e-mail from names I don't recognize, it's into the trash with them.

And I don't think you took the time to read the article and complaint associated with the suit otherwise you would not be making such an uninformed and idiotic statement.

If possible, I would be willing to wager whatever you want and give you 20 to 1 odds that the plaintiffs will win this one going away.

Its what it usally referred to an "open and shut" case.

But I also owe the article’s publisher some courtesy, and I am subject to the laws in this regard. First she is not on the must excerpt list. Second, you have created a link to her site by posting here. This alone should improve her SEO. Third, you complied with the authorship courtesy by using her name as the author and back linking to her blog. If her article is any good, folks will click through to see what else she wrote.

OOPS!

Mea Culpa. Looks like I owe you an apology and thought it best to do so before you (rightfully) take me to task.

I misread your comment to mean that "I don't think their is a case here," and did not notice it until I had replied.

Oh well, that's my 1st mistake this year and only my 2nd in my entire 68 years.

Well, there maybe another somewhere. lol

I like Lucian because he recognized the goodness and unique virtue of Christianity, even though he was personally skeptical of both religion and philosophy. I marvel at the way that Christianity, without violence or open defiance, conquered the Roman Empire. What these early Christians had was so appealing and contrasted so well with the hopelessness of the pagan world that pagans would choose an ‘illicit religion’, punishable by death, over the approved Roman religious systems.

I suspect that we should draw from their success in dealing with the new, secular, state approved religions. My personal belief is that we must find ways of presenting real Christianity to the secular world in a fashion that makes contact with their fallen state. Much as the Apostle Paul did when he quoted pagan poets as a point of connection for his ‘Greek’ audiences.

Please feel free to re-post any article that you wish in its entirety. For my part, I suspect that the moderators will share neither culpability nor financial outcome in the event of legal repercussion. While I will personally take a stand and sacrifice over certain values such as the freedom to practice the Christian religion, I will not assume personal liability for the right to publish an author’s work without their permission.

Forgive me if I violate the moderator injunction.

This is HUGE. Took some homework to get a better picture of what happened... Government officials and police cave to CAIR, restrict Free Speech!

There were 3 other school-sponsored sporting events at which students were present going on in the school at the time of the event. Attendees of those sporting events were not evacuated. http://www.infideltaskforce.com/silencingamerica.htm

They have been at war with us for 1400 years. We didn’t think much about it when they were too weak (as a result of their destructive ideology/religion) to mount a credible threat. But now that we have rebuilt and rearmed them we are in for a real, life-or-death struggle.
