WASHINGTON (CBSDC) The Transportation Security Administration is once again the subject of national scrutiny, this time after aggressively screening a 7-year-old female passenger with cerebral palsy which caused her family to miss their flight....They make our lives completely difficult, her father, Dr. Joshua Frank, a Long Island pediatrician, told The Daily. Shes not a threat to national security.
Frank taped the encounter, which ended when a supervisor inspected her crutches and let them pass. But agents followed up and insisted upon doing a full inspection of Dina.
Ultimately, the family missed their flight.

This is shameful. Our government is out of control.
Close ... Israel uses Profiling PLUS our techniques, and it works very well for them. Everyone goes through security, Profiling is used for those warranting "extra attention".
All cars, taxis, buses and trucks go through a preliminary security checkpoint before entering the airport compound. Armed guards spot-check the vehicles by looking into cars, taxis and boarding buses, exchanging a few words with the driver and passengers. Armed security personnel stationed at the terminal entrances keep a close watch on those who enter the buildings. If someone arouses their suspicion or looks nervous, they may strike up a conversation to further assess the person's intent. Plainclothes armed personnel patrol the area outside the building, and hidden surveillance cameras operate at all times.[41] Inside the building, both uniformed and plainclothes security officers are on constant patrol. Departing passengers are personally questioned by security agents even before arriving at the check-in desk. This interview can last as little as a minute, or as long as an hour if a passenger is selected for additional screening. Luggage and body searches may be conducted. After the search, bags are placed through an X-ray machine before passengers proceed to the check-in counters. Occasionally, if security have assessed a person as a low risk, they will pass them straight through to the check-in desks, bypassing the main x-ray machines.
The time isn’t relevant, nor in the larger picture is the missed flight.
The arrogant, sick behavior of these TSA goons is relevant.
We have our State Police. They are euphemistically called DHS and TSA.
While I agree with most of what you said, they do, however, sometimes run a wand over ya. But the time through security is incredibly short (30 seconds tops), and I oftentimes wonder how they can do it without any incidents, given that they are the “most hated people” on earth. It clearly shows that what TSA is doing is waaaaay overboard. There is a quick visual check driving into Ben Gurion by single guards at 2-3 guard stations who look at ya, and if is not sure, will ask 1-2 quick questions, and that is it! Time? No more than 5-15 seconds at most.
Sources?
What you stated is patently untrue. Ben Gurion International Airport and it's security details. Israel is MUCH more intensive than we are.
TSA at work!
Statistics On Airport Screening From customs and security in Canada:
Terrorists Discovered 0
Transvestites 133
Hernias 1,485
Hemorrhoid Cases 3,172
Enlarged Prostates 8,249
Breast Implants 59,350
Natural Blondes 3
Coming in from London the L.A. TSA had a tiny, curly-headed, blonde boy of TWO, off to the side and wanding him. He was terrified. I was so stunned I didn't think to take a picture. DAMN!!
Originating in the U.S., if it originates outside the U.S., the TSA couldn’t do anything about it anyway.
“Israel is MUCH more intensive than we are.”
Huh? What do you mean “intensive”? I travel there, and if you mean invasive as in body scans, that is nonsense. Utterly fooey!
I did not say that Israel’s security were less INTENSIVE, I said they were less INTRUSIVE. HUGE difference.
And, while it IS true that the Israelis MAY do an occasional body search if they have doubts about a specific person, MOST of the time they don’t touch you. They don’t need to.
So, at the functional level where it matters to the flying public, Israel’s security is tighter than ours; more intense, but virtually hands-off. TSA “security” is lax, less intense, but more personally intrusive.
The answer is: one
In 1994 a disgruntled employee for Fedex took over a Fedex plane, before other crew members regained control.
(Ironically, he was planning on flying the plane into their headquarters in Memphis.)
Before that, you have to go back to 1978 to find a hijacking that originated in the U.S.
So saying “TSA = no hijackings” doesn’t hold sway.
I agree with you on this point. Unfortunate, if this is their first time traveling. But if not, they were foolish in not arriving much sooner given their “special” needs.
After reading many of the TSA apologist posts here the only thing missing is one of the government thug lovers stating, “I’ve read the constitution and nowhere does it state a girl with Cerebral Palsy has a right to fly”.
While I was typing this they just showed a video clip of one of the mentally challenged TSA slugs pushing her phone in front of the fathers camera/phone and tell him not to take her picture which I can understand as first she was butt ugly and second these scum don’t want their actions shown. Evidently a supervisor told the IQ challenged TSA agent she could not demand the passenger stop the video.
To the time challengers, the family claimed to be there 2 hours ahead of time and had gone through security once then were accosted (my words) while at the gate a second time.
Profile the 6th century sand monkeys and leave the rest of us alone.
He was taping the incident.
They decided to punish him for that. That is why they went back and decided to do the pat down.
Paybacks are hell.
You are supposed to stand there like a subservient idiot and let them do anything they like.
Play stupid and they will march you right through.
The benefit that Israel enjoys, that we do not - is that we must treat everyone equally. Equal Opportunity, Equal Protection, etc.
In short, we cannot legally profile - despite the known success, despite the fact that we know who is targetting us, despite every bit of common sense we possess ... we are prohibited from doing this.
Thus, instead of doing the wise thing (Israel - we agree there), we must all share in the misery.
Absolutely right let's blame the TSA.
The family had a financial agreement with the airline, they purchased services from the airline at an agreed price.
The federal government hurtles over the 10th Amendment and sets its self up on private property and gets between the airline and its customers.
If the airport or the individual airlines set up security checkpoints, that is one thing. That would be part of your agreement with doing business with them. If they violate you and treat you children like trash, you will no longer give them business.
The federal government monopoly and their TSA goons have no place there.
Hmm, so there was a lull.
