BRIDGEPORT The stepfather of a 5-year-old boy who brought 50 packets of heroin to show-and-tell was arrested after going to the school in search of the drugs, police say.
The student went to kindergarten Monday with his stepfather's jacket and pulled out the drugs in 10 small plastic bags when it came time for his presentation to the class, Bridgeport police told the Connecticut Post (http://bit.ly/HYhtzj ). The teacher grabbed the bags away from the boy, and the principal called police.
The boy's stepfather, Santos Roman, 35, was arrested after arriving at the school.
Roman was searching the school for his stepson when he saw the jacket in an empty classroom, grabbed it and ran out of the school, police spokesman Keith Bryant told the newspaper. He said police, who had already seized the drugs, then took Roman into custody.
Roman was detained on $100,000 bail on risk of injury to a minor and drug charges. It's not clear if Roman has a lawyer.
The boy was put in state custody until other relatives could be located.
The drugs are worth about $500 on the street.
did he do it for Treyvon??
Another one for the “Unclear of the concept” files.
Just say no.
Just when I thought we were already too far gone...
well, the kid done showed and told
I’m surprised the teacher didn’t confiscate it for his/her own use.
and then they knew the actual reason the kid was ADHD....
Next time, bring the cocaine, kid!
This is different. What did you chidren bring to “show and tell”?
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
I read this to DH and we had a good laugh over it — what was the kid going to say it was and what it was for...
(waiting for snarky responses, fellow Freepers!!).
Awww .... Stepdad “bonds” ......out with stepson.
The teacher should be fired immediately for touching the bags. Schools have zero tolerance policies for a reason.
A student was suspended a week or 2 ago simply for refusing drugs he/she was given.
Darwin candidate in the making.

Or maybe another Dion.
Ok, Freepers, here's a question for you. Would you want your child associating or assembling with this boy? Is this boy with his family's influences what you would choose for your child?
Please remember that one of our First Amendment rights is freedom of assembly, yet, the government socialist-entitlement school violates this right every minute of every socialist-entitlement school day. Someone’s child is **forced** by the government into association with this boy. Someone’s kid is sitting next to this boy every school day. And....Across our nation government school children are **forced** into association with other children from similar circumstances. And...taxpayers are under police threat to pay for it.
conservatives don't think that way.
He can’t help the circumstances he was born into.

This family definitely needs Christian help. It needs the help of mature **adult** missionaries who are firm in their faith.
The last I checked, Jesus never sent tender little children out into the wild world of missionary work. Jesus never preached that government should **force** others into assembly with Him or any other group or **force** the taxpayers to pay for it.
Fundamentally, the government ( through its socialist-entitlement schools) is, and will, **force** other people’s children into assembly with this boy. By doing this they are trashing the First Amendment and **forcing** taxpayers to pay for it.
