Zimmerman's attorneys announced they have stepped down and are no longer representing him
Attorneys say Zimmerman has not stayed in contact with them, scheduled media appearance with Sean Hannity on his own
"It's no so much that we are resigning. It's that we cannot continue to represent him until he comes forward," said attorney Craig Sonner
"He's got to reach out to us," Uhrig said
Despite stepping away from Zimmerman as a client, both attorneys say they continue to believe he acted in self-defense. "We frankly believe the correct decision will be to not charge him," Uhrig said.
The attorneys say they know of Zimmerman's location and have his personal phone number but have been unable to reach him directly for 48 hours.
"George can't go out and buy a Diet Coke. There's a bounty on his head," Uhrig said.

if that was the case then he would not be going on the hanity show.
The two attorneys who have been representing George Zimmerman announced at a press conference minutes ago that they are withdrawing as his legal counsel.
“On Sunday, we lost track of George, in that he would not return our calls,” attorney Hal Uhrig said. Said attorney Craig Sonner, “I've lost contact with him at this point.”
Sonner and Uhrig, who have been publicly representing Zimmerman in the media, said that Zimmerman has not been answering their phone calls.
The lawyers said Zimmerman called Sean Hannity of Fox News without consulting with them. He also called the office of the special prosecutor in the case, something the attorneys said they'd never have told him to do.
“We were a bit astonished,” Uhrig said. He praised Special Prosecutor Angela Corey's office for declining to speak with Zimmerman without legal counsel.
He added that he thinks Zimmerman is going through post-traumatic stress. “He's largely alone... he's at least emotionally alone.”
Sonner said that he'd be willing to represent Zimmerman again in the future, if Zimmerman were to get back in contact with him.
Both lawyers were adamant that they still believe Zimmerman is innocent, and defended his actions on the night of the shooting at length when questioned by reporters.
However, they said they can't represent him without being in communication with him.
According to Uhrig, Zimmerman had characterized the lawyers working for him as “legal advisors,” not his attorneys.
“I'm not sure what the distinction is, but in his mind there's a distinction,” Uhrig said.
Zimmerman has been in hiding since the shooting. Sonner said on Tuesday that Zimmerman is still in the United States. Both lawyers were repeatedly prodded on his location.
Said Uhrig: “I will not tell you where George Zimmerman is, because I don't know.”

During that press conference, they revealed that Zimmerman had had a conversation with Hannity.
“We learned that he had contacted Sean Hannity of Fox News directly, not through us, and we believe, I can't confirm this, we believe that he spoke directly with Sean, off the record, and he's not even willing to tell us what our client told him,” attorney Hal Uhrig said.
In an even stranger twist, the site Loop21 published on Tuesday what it said was an email correspondence with Zimmerman. In response to an email asking him to prove he was actually George Zimmerman, the man replied, “Certainly, You can contact Sean Hannity I spoke with him today and he confirmed my identity.”

Certainly, You can contact Sean Hannity I spoke with him today and he confirmed my identity.
Sincerely,

Because he’s under investigation. The cops aren’t on your side, the DA isn’t on your side, when they’re investigating something involving you you’d better get SOMEBODY on your side.
Hannity is a guaranteed friendly interview if you’re on the conservative side of the issue.
I also think he’s a likable guy and more in the Palin wing of the party than the Romney wing. He’s not creative enough that I want to listen to him monologue for 3 hours, but then very few people are. So I don’t understand the animosity.
Anything he says to Hannity can and will be used against him. He shouldn’t be saying anything to anyone.
Maybe he left the country.
“Why should an American citizen who has done nothing wrong and has not been charged with a crime stay in touch with attorneys?”
He shouldn’t but it would be the prudent thing to do.There is a lot of hate out there, thanks to Obama,Al,and all the rest of the race pimps.
I agree.
Zimmerman should expect that he will be charged with something. They are going to throw him to the wolves. So he should start working on the jury now.
I would make a statement and plead my innocence, and ask all people to think about what they would do in a situation where they were being beaten and told that they were going to die.
I always believe it is best to get out in front of things like this.
if he called the prosecutor, at least an ethical one, they would have declined to talk to him because he was represented by counsel. They would have been obliged to tell him to obtain consent from his lawyers OR to fire his lawyers.
even then it would be dangerous territory for an opposition attorney.
If Zimmerman screws this up, he'll be at worst - admitting to manslaughter. Despite everything speculated, it's still a grey area if he's guilty or not. In addition, going on Hannity does nothing to help him in court.
Let me put it this way. I wouldn't be talking if I was in his shoes, despite my training.
Agree 100%.
He should be staying out of sight, and not making a peep, and sticking like glue to those attorneys. There’s more than his neck riding on this.
What kind of an attorney is it that would find it necessary to reveal to the MSM that he's not going to represent his client anymore? Whatever happened to attorney - client confidentiality?
This guy sounds like a cheap slimeball hoping to get his own 15 minutes of fame..........
I hope so. I feel bad for him. Could you imagine having to leave America due to a bounty on your head?
And no one doing anything about it? Makes me ill.
Although, one day, we will face the same fate decision.
Maybe the attorneys have been threatened-or their families.

You're not serious are you?
